You know things are bad for Dems when a used car salesman beats them.

This reminds me of the ouster of Oklahoma Dem politician, Mike Synar, in 1994 was defeated by a high school principal, Virgil Cooper, in a Dem primary run-off election. Cooper only spent $20K to do so.

How was that possible?

Because he along with his fellow OK Dem, Dave McCurdy, proved to be big on gun control by casting their votes for the Brady Bill and the Crime Bill which banned certain types of “assault rifles.”

The Donks may learn from this and nominate Biden.

The destruction the Democrats put on WV is huge. WV was a coal mining state and a huge amount of working miners are now unemployed. In the past many of these union miners voted for the Democrats and helped to dig their own graves.
The Marcellus shale is helping WV a lot with jobs and opportunity.

Ford vs. Chevy goes back a long time before Obama. Almost time to hop in the F250 and head for work. Hope your day is a good one.

So does U.S. vs. U.K., but when the Nazis come around, you set aside your differences. Full Disclosure: My campaign vehicle was a 1966 Dodge Dart, so I don't have a dog in this one.

The article at the link contains this sentence

And despite not raising a dime for his Republican campaign and agreeing with his Democratic opponent on almost all the issues, he defeated West Virginia's longest-sitting state senator.
Why are we celebrating a win by a 'Rat in elephant's clothing? This is just a case that in wave elections, you get a lot of chaff blown in with the wind.

Here is a story that really makes the point that you need to ALWAYS field an opponent, because - hey! they might win!

I was active in GOP politics when I lived in Michigan in the '80s. In the Reagan romp of '84, we had a lady who was a Republican activist who put her name on the ballot, under the Republican banner, for an office against a long-time, entrenched DemocRAT incumbent. She didn't spend so much as the cost of a postage stamp. She almost won. I think she lost by 1 percentage point.

Good for him.

Hey, Pelosi, it wasn’t a wave.

It was a TSUNAMI!

Surely you are not comparing Joe Biden to this young man from West Virginia. Joe Biden wouldn’t make a decent scab on Mark Maynard’s butt.

You’re exactly right and I cannot understand why the United Mine Workers Union supported Grimes in Kentucky. You just can’t fix stupid!

You have to be really, really bad when a used car salesman beats you. Who ever trusts a used car salesman?

excellent_____
The pale, male and stale contingent is waking up that Democrats are stealing the country from them. That we have a minority occupation gov’t in DC

Republicans control 70% of all state legislatures

Democrat strength is in the central govt in DC running roughshod over the states and counties. And the Federale bureaucracy where only liberals and affirmative action babies (gay, black female, etc) get hired by their own kind who already entrenched and let their buddies and relatives know when a Federale job opens up. White males trend too conservative for the permanent Federal bureaucracy’s taste.

The above is virtually true. Of course some heterosexual white males get hired but very few compared to their numbers in the population.

During my life I have owned Fords, Chevys, Buicks, Pontiacs, Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, Datsun, Fiat, KIA, Mazda, and now Lincoln. They all have one thing in common: They eventually wear out.................

You’ve got it backwards. The Dem was espousing Conservative stands on things like the Second Amendment and Social Issues. There are still a few Truman-style Democrats around in some states. Lighten up Paine...... are you ever happy about anything? Damn.

I got it - "I didn't agree with him. He agreed with me."

When it comes to politics, pretty much no. ;^}

Who ever trusts a used car salesman?

Well, when he also plays guitar and sings C&W and Gospel, I'll cut him some slack.

As POTUS, not so much.
