I’ve been to WM corporate HQ in Bentonville.
It looks like a state prison with a bunch of sheet metal buildings around it.
They obviously don’t spend a penny more than absolutely necessary.

For Marcs to beat them on price means they are a very well run business.

ALDI. The prices are like 1985. Check them out if you have one around.

We've got a Walmart and an Aldi's less than a quarter mile apart. My wife shops at both of them, cherry picking the best goods and bargains between them.

Gotta admit that Aldi's has great prices, but the food quality, though acceptable, leaves something to be desired.

We do a lot of grocery shopping at Wally World. Their prices are much lower. Woudn’t get near the place otherwise.

90% of those shopping in Walmart fit the libdem profile. Crazy, in'it?

Crazy because it isn't true.

Walmart is the store for gun owners and anti-union fly over country.

The left has managed to keep Walmart groceries from 10s of millions of shoppers by keeping them out of major cities.

Another Aldi shopper here. I never go to Walmart anymore except for gas. Years of enduring long lines and horrible customer service drove me away from Walmart. Aldi is fast and efficient.

Here is a comparison between Aldi and Walmart.

I went to college with a guy who’s father was an executive at the old Bernie Shulman’s. This was back in the mid Eighties. He was one of the four guys that rented the house we lived in. Dad was loaded, he never had his rent on time, NEVER.

All I know is that he must have been doing very well.

We all where invited to his wedding, his bride was also a student at our college.. Man that was some shindig. It was at one of the old private clubs on the East Side of Cleveland, either Shaker Heights or Cleveland Heights, somewhere around there. It was the type of place Presidents play golf at when they are in town, super swanky. It was much higher end than I had ever been too before, probably since.

WM customers fit the profile of the area they are situated in far more than the fit any theoretical "libdem" profile. And you will find a lot of Dems who pay more to go to the unionized stores like Kroger because the union tells them to.

No kidding! Food Stamps are the modern day Soup lines. If we didn’t have food stamps and housing vouchers there would be a whole lot of Obamavilles in this country.

I wrote to our local WM. Nothing in response.

Well, that sucks. I was thinking of writing to them because I just bought a can of Walmart brand coffee from their store and it had a human tooth in it.

Yes, a human tooth. Baby tooth, at that.

Not sure what, but I want some sort of response from them about that.

I have five kids. All boys, They eat allot of food and they are still young. It has gotten to the point that buying lunch meat is a strain.

I recently started getting it by the bulk at GFS (Gordon Food Service). They will slice it for free. I take it home and vacuum seal it in 1# packs and they last in the refrigerator so long we eat them long before they go bad. 8#’s of Turkey Breast was $21. The same thing ON SALE at the grocery store would be almost $50.

WM built a new superstore in town. The floors around the frozen cases and aisles are black with filth. I just can’t believe it. The Meijer’s in town is clean, and well stocked and pleasant. No baby daddy pushing strollers at 1 a.m.

Budget has a built in increase. That is why a cut in increase is called a budget cut. All slight of hand.

Our local Meijer is very nice, but not price competitive at all. But they are drawing an upscale crowd, and filling a market position that can make good profits.

Crazy because it isn't true. Walmart is the store for gun owners and anti-union fly over country.

Oh, I know that's true for flyover country, but here in Texas, it's also true for the cities.

The left has managed to keep Walmart groceries from 10s of millions of shoppers by keeping them out of major cities.

Only in libdem strongholds like Los Angeles County. Here in North Texas, you'll find Walmarts located just about everywhere.

Possibly, although the 80 yr old retired snarling battle axe chicks that man the greeter position these days do a pretty thorough job of shaking down the rabble on their way out.

I buy groceries at Ingles first Walmart second. Meat is bought at Ingles always. The frozen food is mainly bought at Walmart unless Ingles has a sale.

Walmart stores need quality control in the stores themselves and have the authority to pre-order high volume items making certain shelves stay stocked all days of the month.

Their produce is hit and miss. For the last month the Grape Tomatoes were premium priced and were wasting away because the containers were full of Gnats. Yes they have no bananas either sold out usually or green as a gourd a week away from ripe even in a paper poke. Canned foods? Lacking in name brand saturated in Great Value store name brand. Usually Ingles can beat Wally's Price and has name brands. Wally is no longer the cheapest and hasn't been for some time now. Paper towels? Hey how about a six pack roll {non select a size} kept in stock I don't need a dozen or fifteen rolls of it.

The rest of the store pretty much lack of inventory on a consistent level. I bought a jacket the first of the month got it home the entire back bottom of it was missing the entire stitches for 6 inches. I took it back for an exchange. Got exchange home zipper dysfunctional and loose strands in the seems. Shoe Dept? Stop the blasted Unisex nonsense. Same with clothing you can no longer tell where one section ends and other begins.

The backward Super Walmarts where the food section is on the right have the worst layouts storewide. The aisles are such it's like a labyrinth. If Walmart is real serious about increasing profits they should listen to managers who interact with the customers. Walmart Corp used to answer complaints. I've talked to a VP before but that was years ago. Today you make any suggestion or complain and it gets referred to a clerk at the local store who has no ability or authority to address any issues nordo the managers most of the time. Bentonville micromanages each shelf.

Those are some of the reasons Walmart is not doing well. Bring back Layaway. Charge a small reasonable fee if needed. Bigger ticket items can be bought and paid for in 90 days, are secure in the store until paid off. A win/win for all. Walmart's in store on time inventory system is anything but on time and when it's not on time nobody follows through. Show a clerk a missing item and you'll hear "We have six of them on the shelf". They look at the scanner not the shelves themselves and aren't comparing the products present to product code.
