I think the emphasis in this article is wrong. What happened to the intelligence of the Ivy League? That’s a better question.

Not sure who dragged this up, but its brilliant. Demonstrates which party is full of racists, and more than that, it demonstrates (once again) that democrats are not above politicizing education to achieve power over a group of people.

“Exactly. The 1964 Literacy Test was implemented by DEMOCRATS to stay in power through fraudulent means. “

So, who were The Democrats’ alleged “natural allies” predisposed to vote for?
These laws were designed to prevent blacks from voting for REPUBLICANS!!!

right from “left to right” would still be r-i-g-h-t.

But I think the idea is to have several correct answers. For example, if you didn’t write the answer to the left of the original word “right”.

Same goes for all of the “cross out the...” questions. If you only put a “slash” that would not be a cross.

If you put an “x” to “cross out”; well that does not look like a cross - you know, like Jesus was on.

And for some odd reason you were to put a something that really looked like a cross that Jesus was on, they could say you were supposed to put an “x”.

Back in the day it was only land owners that could vote iirc. I don’t think that is right, but it also doesn’t make sense that people that can’t even read or understand English should be able to vote either, with no clear understanding of the issues.

But - the issues don’t matter to those that are “educated” either. Either they have a “D” or “R” after their name, or “hey - I’ve heard that name before” will sway their vote.

I mean, who wouldn’t support something called “The Affordable Health Care Act” or the “Homeland Security Act”
