Busch Drive on Jacksonville’s Northside is popular with customers and its clerks are too. “We come here every morning, every day for gas and coffee; my kids come here a lot,” said Randi Estrada, a customer. JSO said at least two armed persons robbed the store around 5:30 Sunday morning.

It’s Florida get your CCW and risk getting fired. Better than being a victim.

They usually cite insurance costs as the reason for denying their folks the chance to defend themselves - they value a few thousand a year more than they value their employees' lives. On the flip side, I can picture insurance companies "fixing" this by raising the rates for any establishment that hires workers to "cover all eventualities". Lawyers and insurance companies are extensions of the anti-freedom Left.

Police say they are looking for a four-door car and at least two suspects.

Pretty rare, a four-door car! /S

Just b/c you comply w/ the robber’s demands doesn’t mean he won’t shoot you. Its your life not the convenient store’s. My advice is to carry and be prepared to get fired. Thats preferable to being fired upon w/o recourse.

The state governments could fix this by changing the laws to disallow lawsuits against people who are defending themselves.

As for the clerk that drops their gun and kills a customer, there is liability that cannot and should not be excused, if the employer mandates that employees carry. That said, the state governments could again pass legislation, which limits liability to the individual, so that the employer cannot be sued.

Most corporations deny their employees right to self defense. As a nation, we have allowed insurance companies to dictate too many things in our lives.
