The term "African American" makes no sense. Africa is a place (and so is America) and is not a race. They don't have a place to check for "Irish American" or "Polish American", so why "African American"?
National Council of Negro Women is not amused.
Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League is not amused.

The US Army apologized for using the word “Negro” in some of its internal documents. Meanwhile, the United Negro College Fund STILL continues in its racist ways. and the NAACP, the National Association for the Advancement of COLORED PEOPLE, still uses shameful racist terms.
When do you think they will apologize for their racism?

So will the United Negro College Fund get the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians treatment? Is Colored People suddenly OK again or is the NAACP to be picketed by people who think there’s a constitutional amendment protecting them from being offended? Rhetorical questions, of course.

Very interesting film, very patriotic. It was set in a black church with a preacher addressing an all-black well-dressed congregation about the importance of the struggle the country was engaged in against the Nazis and Japan--he read a few sentences from Mein Kampf to make the point about Nazi racism.
There were lots of clips showing black American soldiers in all the earlier wars, clips highlighting black Americans who had made major contributions to America, a monument in France to the black American soldiers who fought in France in WWI (with the word Negro clearly visible on the monument) and then it being blown to pieces by the Germans, and lots of scenes showing the son of one of the parishioners as he entered the army and went through basic training. There was a bit on the Tuskegee airmen also.
What a gulf between the attitudes portrayed in that film and those of the last 40-50 years.
And you darned well better not call me Caucasian or I’ll start me a riot.
