A former Navy chaplain who made headlines for being court martialed for praying in Jesus’ name has been elected to the Colorado State House of Representatives.

Former Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt, nicknamed “Chaps,” won the seat Tuesday in Colorado House District 15 with more than 70 percent of the vote.

His work will begin in January.

Thanks for the ping, Army Bro! I hope more of our military run for office after their active duty service is completed. We need their expertise, their professionalism and their patriotism in our halls of government.

He should call up the officers who court martialed him, and tell them that they are in his sights. They can hope to make it to retirement. He should then stomp the hell out of them.
