So who’s going to be in charge come January? New leadership means new committee chairs. Here is a list of the potential Senate Committee chairmen or chairwomen in the next session of Congress:

Budget: Jeff Sessions (Ala.) Commerce, Science, Transportation: John Thune (S.D.) Energy & Natural Resources: Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) Environment & Public Works: Jim Inhofe (Okla.) Finance: Orrin Hatch (Utah) Foreign Relations: Bob Corker (Tenn.) Health, Education, Labor, & Pensions: Mike Enzi (Wyo.) Homeland Sec. & Gov’t Affairs: Susan Collins (Maine) Intelligence: Richard Burr (N.C.) Judiciary: Chuck Grassley (Iowa) Rules & Administration: Lamar Alexander (Tenn.) TOPICS: Government; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: 2014; 2014midterms; committee; gop; midterm
Pat Roberts for agriculture isn't so bad I guess.

Thad Cochran on appropriations?! This man doesn't deserve a janiotor's job. Way to slap the voters in the face!

Juan McInsane as head of the armed services committee. No... God no.... Are the Repukes suicidal? This nutjob is out of step with the whole party, his approval is in the crapper. NOOOOO!

Shelby will do fine on the banking committee

Sessions got EXACTLY what he wanted. Budget committee allows him to twist Obama's arm on amnesty. Also, goodbye lobotomy case Patty Murray!

Commerce, Science, and Transportation. This was supposed to go to Cruz. Giving it to Thune, a nobody, is an insult.

Energy, Lisa MurCOWski? She should have been kicked out of the party for breaking the official party rules in 2010. Instead, she gets to head a committee. Please kick this **** out in 2016, Alaska.

Inhofe is going to drive the rats nuts on the environment committee! Tom Steyer cries himself to sleep.

Despicable Hatch gets finance and all the perks

Corker will be licking McLame's boots on the foreign relations committee, doing his bidding.

Health - Mike Enzi... meh

Homeland Security, Susan Collins is far from distinguished for this role.

Intelligence, Richard Burr? Those two don't go together

Judiciary for Chuck Grassley isn't a bad choice

Rules for Lamar! oh, please.

Fine with Vitter for small businesses.

Veterans' Affairs Burr again? He gets two?!

PBS is probably stunned. They probably didn't think those dumb Republicans would have anything worked out yet and wanted to report it that way. Instead they got a list right away.

To bad for the Premenstrual Basically-democrat Slimebucket.

Woo-Hoo, this will drive the global warmists nutso.

You beat me to it.
Inhofe is a long time global warming denier.
I believe Sen. Barbara Boxer heads that committee now.
This is a dual improvement if Inhofe heads that committee. -tom

You are correct. There are a lot of RINO’s on this list. Do not like that John McCain, Thad Cochroach and Lisa MurCOWski are being rewarded with chairmanships. What have those three ever brought to the Party? They are RINO leaches, sucking of the tit of government, just like the d-Rats.

Cochran and MurCowski are just annoying on principle (and Cochran will load up Mississippi with goodies)

But McLamne could do real damage to the party brand as head of this committee. He’d have a platform even bigger than he does now, appearing in the place of Dianne Frankenfeinstein on all the Sunday shows. He will make Republicans look like war-crazy nutjobs who want to arm terrorists.

No wonder Haley Barbour was so willing to cheat so egregiously to win. He’ll get his hands on the nation’s appropriations.

I would really like to see that committee chair go to someone lucid.

Juan McInsane as head of the armed services committee. No... God no....

This War Hero lost any credibility with me for the reprehensible way he treated the families of the Vietnam MIAs.
