For those of you who still don’t understand the ice age...uh...er...Global Warming...well...I mean Climate Change, here are the facts!

It has NEVER been this cold or hot or snowy or dry this early or this late in the year, in any given part of the world, ever, sorta.

Got it?!?!

Agreed. We better hope its a mini ice age. Heat we can deal with, cold has the potential to wipe many of us out.

Think the article is using the event as an example (and perhaps poorly...since the climate is just an average of extremes). Lot’s of research being done now on the sun’s role...cosmic radiation’s role...and just plain cycles.

“The worst, 10 and 6 meter DX will suck. I remember in the solar maxes of 1979 and 1989, I’ve had CB radio (11 meters, just below 10 meters) contacts as far as a few thousands of miles. “

From the links below it seems solar flares and CME’s can either enhance radio communication, or make it much worse, or both at slightly different times for the same event.

“...Ushering in Mini Ice-Age

Bull sprinkles. ...I defer to the experts...you. I do not know what all is in for the near future.”

You are right. No one KNOWS we are heading for a mini ice age. However it does not take divination to observe phenomena, record results, see it repeated, and draw conclusions.

The observed phenomena which corresponds to logic and known facts is that extremely low sunspot activity has a significant cooling effect on the earth. It is known this effect is delayed by a thermal flywheel situation. It is known that we just went through a VERY inactive solar period approximating inactivity levels of the last minimum. It is known that the warming trend of the decade prior to this was halted.

The question remains, will the low solar activity continue for many decades as in the maunder minimum? No one knows, but some are guessing based on limited evidence that it is not over yet. The other question is whether man’s high levels of carbon output can have even a slight mitigating factor if another solar minimum period occurs? Evidence, contrary to warming alarmists, is that man’s impact is miniscule versus the sun’s impact on temperatures.
Use more aerosols :-)

Thank you all very much.

Still, I prefer my weather lady on TV.

Problem is, CO2 is a good thing. Greenhouse is a good thing.

Civilization thrives in warmer climates.

If they could raise cattle in Alaska, they wouldn't be paying twice as much for beef as you and I.

The cold will not be what wipes us out.

The fighting over the remaining food and fuel will be what wipes people out.

Correct. Although I think the food thing will be related to suitable land. If a full-blown ice age (I'm almost sure it will be “when”, not if,) occurs again, useful land for growing crops will be pretty limited.

Maneuvering to control the area within 10-20(???) degrees of the equator will get pretty desperate.

“... as they will claim that the ice age is actually caused by globull warming.”

That was the premise of that movie back in Al Gore’s heyday, with the images of the ice in NYC. Something to do with the melting of the ice caps disrupting the Gulf Stream and causing NYC to freeze over. All very scientific don’t you know.

I thought all of the changes were simply called "WEATHER?"

What a quaint idea. You must have picked it up in the dark ages before Common Core.

Welcome King Barack "Canute" Obama the Great.....

That's not really as apt an analogy as you would think. What Canute was doing in this story (which may well be apocryphal), is to demonstrate humility before his courtiers. He was basically saying, yeah, if I really was as great and mighty as you say, the tides would obey my will. Instead it bends only to the will of the Lord Almighty. I do not believe Obama's narcissism would allow him such insight.

Yea, I remember that movie. It was called “The Day After Tomorrow” or some such twaddle. Never watched it even when it came on cable for free.

Snow Fall in South East America Breaks 100 Year Records, Ushering in Mini Ice-Age

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting...etc.", uttered by many wise individuals, including Bill "BJ" Clinton.

It is a recognized axiom among real Climate Scientists that "climate" cannot be defined or redefined by 100 years worth of weather--- or even 1000 years.

They just don't give up, do they.

The weather cycles the Russian is talking about are less than a thousand years in length.

I wonder how worse it will be if the poles flip. There is supposed to be a time of fluctuation where the electromagnetic field is at its weakest and things that usually bounce off just come on down. could be how the Biblical meteors make it here. Fun to think about so I upgraded my tin foil hat last summer.

Well, we could have higher radiation come from space but don't forget we have the Van Allen Belts as well for some protection. Pole shift or flip, wonder how it will affect radio communication?

My go to guy for anti-global warming info is Piers Corbyn at WeatherAction.com. He's looked up and has seen the giant ball of burning fire in the sky and concluded that the ball of fire has more impact on weather than the invisible, tasteless part of our atmosphere called carbon dioxide. The Global Warming cultists promote CO2 as the all mighty gas sending us to hell, if we don't make sacrifices to the goddess Gaia.

Piers Corbyn explains why the mini-ice age has arrived and that we can't do anything about it in this video from 4/26/2013: The Mini Ice Age Is Upon Us & Arctic Ice Claims Disproved.

Cold will be root cause. Full blown ice age, glaciers re-form enlarge and advance, nothing survives in the path of glaciation.
