Dems Turn to Clintons, Not Obama
Th Hill ^ | November 1, 2014 | Amie Parnes

Democrats are turning to Bill and Hillary Clinton — and not President Obama — to save their majority in the Senate.

The Clintons have crisscrossed the country in recent weeks for Democratic candidates, and will each appear in key states this weekend where races could decide which party controls the upper chamber.

While Obama has been mostly sidelined — he’ll appear at a Michigan rally on Saturday where Democrats believe a Senate seat is safely in hand — the Clintons are traveling to red states where the president is not welcome. On Saturday, Hillary Clinton will appear alongside Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.). She’ll then travel to Kentucky to appear alongside Senate candidate Allison Lundergan Grimes, who is running against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY.)

Former Secretary of State Clinton will travel the next day to New Hampshire to appear at a get out the vote rally for Gov. Maggie Hassan and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

Meanwhile, Bill Clinton, his approval ratings still sky high, will stump in North Carolina for Sen. Kay Hagan (D) before heading back to his home state of Arkansas for one final rally for Sen. Mark Pryor (D).

Obama has been stuck mostly campaigning for Democratic governors around the country.

With his approval ratings in the low 40s, most Democratic House and Senate candidates have wanted him to stay away. In Kentucky, Grimes even refused to say whether she voted for Obama.

The flurry of visits by the Clintons comes with some responsibility.

I look at it as choosing your poison. It's really funny and ironic but with the situation the Democrats are in, they really had no choice but to turn to the Clintons out of desperation in trying to salvage the mid-term elections. But Hillary hasn't proven to be particularly effective anyway.

Hillary's ambition outstrips her capabilities by a country mile.

She is simply good for nothing.

I saw a clip of Hillary’s speech stumping for Braley in Iowa. Pretty lame stuff.

The only race I could see affected by these appearances is Hagan in NC. That’s a whisker-close race, and Bubba can still turn on the politician’s charm and wow a crowd. It might swing a few thousand votes Hagan’s way.

Isn’t this rich? The War on Women crowd has to turn to the Clintons for help. Too laughable.

Turning to the Clintons only shows the Democrat’s haven’t anything to offer beyond that which they have offered, and very few of we the people are buyin’ what they have offered.

if reps had any fortitude they would laugh Clinton off the stage. talk about a war on women. I would list every affair jfk, ted kennedy, and clinton had. I would call out the murder committed by ted....how clinton attacked his women and raped them.

I'd let it fly.

It’s obvious the Democrat party has returned to its racist roots. When the going gets tough, dump the black guy.

Freepers - surely we must have some record of Bill Clinton’s recent record for endorsements and actual campaign appearances? Remember Martha Coakley? Lots of others.

Bloomberg is writing how he is ‘riding to the rescue.’ But - as usual - they do not show any previous election where he has helped. Witness, HILLARY.

question! how many senate races are currently going on, 23ish? I know I should know but I don’t, so.......

How many ‘could’ we win, not just likely but surprises?

Considering that Bubba only has about a 40% endorsement record in the win column, Dems must figure that Kiss of Death is better than a sloppy wet one from Prince Obola
