Bowie Resource Partners says it has eliminated 150 jobs at the Bowie #2 coal mine near Paonia.

Last year the shutdown of another mine in the region caused nearly 300 people to lose their jobs. That coal mine is in Somerset.
In the release, Bowie says it will provide the 150 laid off workers with 60 days of wages and benefits.

How long do unemployment benefits last? I thought they were usually for a two or three months.

unemployment benefits last for up to 2 years now. Many then go on disability which last forever. Local Soc Security office has one of those electronic flowing banners in front of the seating area saying “Ask Us About Disability”.
This is perfectly in line with Obama’s objectives.

The world has gone completely crazy and some times it’s hard to tell truth from fiction.
I wish I was a kid in the early 80’s again, life was so much simpler back then. All the kids I knew were pretty decent and “innocent” right through high school for the most part.
This country does not even vaguely resemble what it was back then.
As a teen ager, I got to witness the crazy ‘60’s. You must be around my son’s age. He was born in 1979.
