First-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits saw a modest increase in the week ended October 25th, according to a report released by the Labor Department on Thursday.

The report said initial jobless claims edged up to 287,000, an increase of 3,000 from the previous week's revised level of 284,000.

Economists had expected jobless claims to tick up to 285,000 from the 283,000 originally reported for the previous week.

With the modest increase, jobless claims climbed further off the fourteen-year low of 266,000 set in the week ended October 11th.

However, the Labor Department said the four-week moving average dipped to 281,000, a decrease of 250 from the previous week's revised average.

The drop pulled the less volatile four-week moving average down to its lowest level since hitting 279,250 in May of 2000.

Last, week, the jobless claim number was 283,000. As usual, they revised it UP by 1,000, Who knows what the jobless revision for this week will be next week....

It's fun with Thursday jobs numbers once again.

Of course ABC’s morning radio news report was all economic blue sky. Time is running out for these clowns, they’re desperate.

WEEKLY claims remain near the 250K mark and the MONTHLY hiring numbers continue to be trumpeted. The monthly numbers never begin to equal the total weekly numbers, yet Obama has reduced unemployment. It seems the NEW employment for the Obama voter is the Gibsmedat Job.

“modest”, they say. if GWB was president, the headlines would be screaming, “ECONOMY FALTERS. ECONOMISTS FEARFUL OF NEW RECESSION”

. . . and then they would devote 15 paragraphs to paul krugman’s sinister socialistic bullcrap.

Gassing cars, flipping burgers, delivering pizzas, stock wrangler at Wal-Mart, mowing grass, raking leaves, stocking shelves

You know... meaningful stuff.

These are professional jobs. A vital component to the gross total domestic output... of votes.

So it's up 4000 not 3000 from what we thought it was last week.

Before the election, I'm a little surprised that it went up.

Those kinds of jobs are beneath a lot of the Gibsmedats. It is actually more profitable to max out on Section 8, WICs, TANF, food banks and pantries, Obamaphones, SSI, SSDI to live quite nicely. For that added bump, the yearly $4-5K EITC bump. It’s why you don’t often see them in Walmart before 11AM....it upsets their psyche to get up so early.

The point I was trying to make is that those long out of work, with career knowledge and caereer skills, aren’t being hired.

Th jobs I mentioned are supposed to be entry-level jobs for kids just joining the work force.

Democrat Gaslighting

Gaslighting or gas-lighting is a form of mental abuse
in which false information is presented with the intent
of making victims doubt their own memory, perception, and sanity.
