RE: Whatever happened to this part of the Constitution? :
No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

I’d like to see this litigated all the way to the Supreme Court. I’m curious to see how guys like Ginsberg, Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan would decide.
RE: If you deposit more than $10 grand, youre a drug lord. If less than $10 grand, youre a drug runner.
OK, I just deposited $500.00 today, what does that make me?
“You report to the IRS and you use Form 8300. “
Uh, that form is for cash RECEIVED ...
Too small, right now, to be noticed.
Lou Dobbs had this gal on Monday night. According to Judge Napolitano, this is a law expanded by Bush and the Republicans.
Such thinking/policies are courtesy of the War on Drugs, which many hear enthusiastically support.
OK, I just deposited $500.00 today, what does that make me?
Poor.
Like me.
Yeah, that’s what’s so wacky about this.
If it’s $10,000 or more, you have to report it. If it’s less than $10,000, don’t bother because they already know you’re up to something.
It’s like this: Drive over the speed limit, they pull you over and give you a ticket. Drive under the speed limit, they assume you’re hiding something, and pull you over to search your vehicle.
Deposit $500 a dozen times a month for a few years then the IRS will grab;no sense them bothering until the prize is big enough.
I have said for 35 years that asset forfeiture is absolutely wrong. It is nothing more nor less than government stealing property from people who have not been convicted of a crime involving that property.
I very much agree — I find it astounding how self-labeled constitutionalists and conservatives
could countenance it.
Has anyone determined the political views of the targets of those seizures? More Tea Party persecutions?
Is it wrong for me to wish the Federal Government and DC get attacked by terrorist? This is what I have been doing all morning.
Show me the due process, otherwise we have a prima facie case of Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment violation:
The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides:
[N]or shall any person . . . be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law . . . .[5]
Section One of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides:
[N]or shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law . . . .[6]
Democrats are evil.
What happened to the 5th Amendment??
Ping
It's for the children.
Passed in the 80’s, ostensibly to go after Pablo Escobar & Co.
I’m sure that whenever Pablo’s boys dropped off a suitcase full of blow they took pains to complete Form 8300.
Yep, those are the suspicious ones.
