Gun Owners of America Countering the Anti-gun Left’s New Strategy

Gun Owners of America has just released its 2014 Voter Guide, which rates all the candidates running for federal office. Examine the grades of candidates in your state, and see where they really stand on gun rights!

The anti-gunners new strategy is to drop a dime on gun ranges. They'll call the local EPA or Dept. of Public Safety and report the range for having excessive levels of lead in their environment.

Ranges are then forced to shut down for very expensive modifications to keep the lead levels down to ridiculously low standards.

Watch for it in your community. One person did this to our local range and it has been closed now for 8 months and still won't open until a new $30,000 air replacement system is installed and tested by The State. This after spending serious dollars and man hours on other improvements.

New high flow fans at outdoor ranges?

Ah...would that it were that simple. The outflow is monitored to ensure that levels being sent outside are below arbitrary State mandated levels.

It's not like an exhaust system for the local fry shack. Gotta have a HEPA filtered system.

Gotta have HEPA vacs that are used to collect spent brass.
Gotta have special sealed containers for spent brass...no more galvanized trash cans.
Gotta have special mats that have peel off layers for each shooting station.
Gotta have a cleaning crew with special gear come in once per month and scrub down the joint.
Gotta have special filter masks available along with the usual eye protection.

We've already replaced the backstop and paint every square inch of the place.

This adds up to a seriously large nut. The list seems endless. Which to me spells out exactly what the motive behind all of this is...and it AIN"T public safety from lead. At least not the particulate airborne kind.
