As thread poster on a volatile topic like this, you should lead with your opinion. Or at least state that you haven’t made up your mind.

For my part, while I do take serious note of Romney’s conservative political drawbacks, we could do a lot worse than a Romney for president.

The scarecrow, the wicked witch of the West Wing Hillary comes to mind. She’d be as bad as 0bama, who, I am sad to say, this website helped to re-elect.

I pray that Free Republic doesn’t make that mistake again.

Bob... your service to the country in WWII is greatly appreciated.

Let’s leave it at that, shall we?

Dole and Romney are among the Republicans I have supported and voted for that I was “less than comfortable” with.

Sure, why not? Let’s choose between a mormon and a lesbian this time. We were offered a choice between a mormon and a homosexual muslim on the last go around.

Let’s be diverse! Let’s be progressive! Let’s urinate on the bible at least one more time!

Please not Romney, McCain, any Bush, Rubio, of Christie. I am 100% certain that Christie is running (look at his weight loss!), and that could be a national disaster. No candidate who is squishy on illegal immigrants, on freedom of speech and of religion, on our God-given right to keep and bear arms, or on repealing Obamacare will get any support from me. It is time to fix our country at the ballot box . . . or through other means.

From the end of the article:

Dole drew loud applause from the crowd of several hundred people when he introduced Romney, saying "I want him to run again." As Romney worked the crowd afterward, he ignored a reporter's question about whether he'd run in 2016. He's said previously that he won't.

ANYBODY who thinks that Romney isn't going to seek and GET the Republican presidential nomination in 2016 ... is in denial. Romney is, as he has ALWAYS been, bad news for the Republican party and bad news for America. If he gets steals the nomination again, and I think there's a 99 percent chance he will, my vote will AGAIN go to a third party as a means to weaken the popular mandate of whichever liberal asshat wins, the Republican or the Democrat.

I have finally learned, Eternal Vigilance, that you nailed it when you said the GOPe is playing "Heads I win, tails you lose" with conservatives. Dupes who fall for it and vote for the R in order to vote "against" the D, are embracing Einstein's definition of insanity.

CEW scolds Dio:

I see your reading comprehension hasn’t improved a wit ...

Diogenesis, I see that the Great C. Edmund Wright, before whom we should all grovel and shiver in awe as this "famous" published pundit (Don't You Know Who I Am???) condescends to honor us with his presence and wisdom, is as arrogant, pompous, and blind as ever. He's kind of like Michael Savage for me ... every time I decide to give Savage another chance and listen to his show ... he does something to remind me why I end up listening to cooking or auto repair talk shows rather than subject myself to the crap Savage inevitably dishes out sooner or later, usually sooner. CEW is EXACTLY the same -- I see his name as authoring a post, think, "I'll read it and give him another chance," and the first words out of his mouth prove his astounding conceit and contempt for thee and me.

No wonder I skip his posts.

Well what can you do. He’s the smartest man in any empty room he walks into.

That said, RE your post above, I posted this the other day, but it fits.

“I get so tired of this. The math could not be simpler. Every poll, survey and man on the street conversation backs the idea that the Right has the numbers to overwhelm any election we choose to. But we collectively would rather elect our problems.

The solution could not be simpler. The past 30 years have proven that we get more liberal every election and we do that by electing more liberal Republicans. Common sense says ‘Stop doing that’. But common sense gets derided by the very people we need to vote for conservatives and not for Liberal Republicans.

They scream ‘Purist” and then embrace corruption. They scream ‘We can WIN! with RINO X and then lose over and over. And when RINO X ‘does’ win, what do they do? Govern line the libs they are.

Of course, the sycophants that put them in power to begin with are too damn proud to admit they were wrong, much like the Blacks on the Dem plantation and instead, grow their own plantation by doubling down on stupid and doing it again because, of course, ‘this time it’s gonna work for sure!”

To hell with catching more flies with honey than vinegar. These idiots caused this and intend to do it again and again and again. the same failed crap year after year and their egos will not let them harden the hell up and do the one simple thing that could turn this around. Vote for the conservatives they CLAIM to support but never, ever do.

Is a RINO ever going to oppose Barry? No.
Is a rino ever going to fight back against the indoctrination system from K-College? No
The EPA? No
The BLM? No
The NSA? Hell no, it was the GOP that expanded it.
Defend Marraige? Nope. They stopped fighting.
Amnesty? Un Uh. They PROMISED we get it when they take power.
Ebola and the new Amnesty borne diseases? Nope. Silence.
Abortion? Of course not. Their Donors are determined to steer them away from ‘social issues’.
Homo agenda? See above.

All that is true. It is in article after article day in and day out here. And what does a metric ton of the right say?

“We gotta vote GOP NO MATTER WHAT!?

Not me. If thats the America they want, they can have it. After that mess collapses, the rest of us can pick up the pieces. But if we help them destroy it, then we deserve everything their conning plan brings down on our heads.

And as a side note, before the perpetually offended somewhere out there start bitching, please disprove with fact anything I just said that isn’t the truth.”

you’re such an ass - I made a valid point that cannot be contradicted by you, so just STFU or show me where a single syllable of what I said is wrong.

And if you want to bow or grovel, go ahead - but I never asked for it. BTW, I have zero memory of anything you’ve ever posted - but I apparently live rent free in your little noggin. I like the rent, but the neighborhood sucks.

when you argue with a fool - one might end up looking like a fool - thus I will not argue with you, fool.

Like playing chess with a pigeon - you crap the board, knock the pieces on the floor, have no idea what you’re babbling about - and strut around like you did something. You didn’t.....

you wouldn’t know a fact if it bit you in your ugly drooping old ass.

And even if you did stumble on a fact, you have no capacity to reach a conclusion. You just aren’t smart enough. You just simply are not. And of no consequence. Your opinion is never printed anywhere but here, and no one here even cares. That’s pathetic.
