Do you think Sen. Inhofe is a buffoon?
He’ll be in charge of the Committee on Environment. He’s the most outspoken Senator against global warming. How is this a bad thing?
I’ve been in the backrooms and I think I know a little more.
The Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation rated one Republican as 100 percent Pro-Life and he gave me advice as a political novice.
“Don’t say anything about abortion, but if they ask you tell them you are against it to get the Catholics to vote for you”.......
Another “Pro-Life” legislator said “I’m against abortion but for birth control.”
I’ve seen the organized pro-life group endorse two successive Republican congressman in my area as “Pro-Life” then give them a pass when they only vote that way 60-70 percent of the time.
The richest man in my town calls himself a Republican and supports the GOP elected officials financially. He has supported the biggest abortion operator in the country consistently (Planned Parenthood).
Its no wonder when Planned Parenthood funding came up, those guys in Congress from my area voted to fund PP.
I don’t drink that Kool Aid about how great the GOP is...
They wanted Obamacare because it bails out big insurance companies and big hospital groups with more money from mandatory higher priced premiums required under Obamacare and the expansion of Medicaid......
In the end the GOP only wants to amend Obamacare, not end it.
And that truly IS the problem. Unfortunately, many Republicans do not have any guiding principles beyond the raw desire for political power, so it is impossible for them to effectively advocate Conservative policies that they don't actually believe in.
The good thing is that weaker Republicans are generally followers and will run with the stronger horses. Liberal Democrats have run the Senate for years and weak Republicans have meakly followed them. If we elect enough strong Conservative leaders that are perceived as the new strong horses, the more timid GOP members might get behind them instead. We can hope...
