I have a more like centimeter deep non-healing lesion (long term). Going to try the Curad product since nothing else has worked, even though “colloidal” preparations I used in the past had no effect. Neither did professional consultation including local dermatologists, a university medical center interdisciplinary committee, a plastic surgeon (who wanted to remove a lot more) and others.
Thanks for the information, dear therapsida!

Thanks for the links!
There are also bandages infused with honey made by bees which get the nectar from the same trees tea tree oil is made from. IIRC, Jim had some trouble getting some wounds to heal, and these were used. He may have more info.
Johnson and Johnson are about to launch a new product line with silver-infused bandages. I think they are for for burns.
To this day one of the very first things a doctor does to a newborn is apply a silver solution to the infants' eyeballs in order to kill any bacteria there that it may have picked up in the mother's birth canal. That was once a major cause of blindness in newborns, and there is still no substane that works better.
Why the hatred of Colloidal Silver?
It can't be patented.
There are many things which the medical profession has dismissed as quackery, or simply ignores. Some which are popular are attacked.
I believe in what works.
From the standpoint of those who practice conventional medicine, though, I am sure there is frustration when people misapply unconventional medicine and end up in bad shape because they did not seek more accepted treatment.
There is a middle ground, I believe, and the unpursued avenue of medicine is that which offers little profit for those who would patent the remedies and cures and produce them for mass market. The entities which hold those patents have a great deal of sway in what gets funded, and in the very education of physicians.
BTW, Curad already has a line of bandages with silver in them. I have used them on the spider bites I mentioned, although I did not note as much of a beneficial effect as the ointment. That may have been a misapplication of technology on my part. Just as you would not use the same tool to do every job around the house, no one thing will cure all ills.
In His Wisdom, God has given us a wide variety of things to work with, it is up to us to apply them appropriately. Summary dismissal is bad science.
Hi, thank you, I didn’t see your reply earlier. Quite a few years ago I tried honey and tea tree oil separately, but not the special nectar you described.
It has been 6 years, so hopefully you are all healed. I have been studying and living therapeutic nutrition and healing for around 50 years. Currently 81 and healthy. Sunken Civ sent me this link after I commented at a Covid-19 post. You don’t say so, but I suppose you are also referring to a spider bite, probably Recluse, but perhaps Black Widow. At any rate, without more information, here is a recipe I can suggest as it is safe and easy to find ingredients. You can make more or less depending on how much you think you would need to apply poultices for 2 weeks or so, changing bandage or wrappings 2 or 3 times a day.
1/4 cup of honey or aloe vera or some of both.
2 to 4 grams Vitamin C tablet crushed or C powder
1000 to 1200 IU of Vitamin E
1 tablespoon of crushed fresh garlic
Optional additions: A little Tea Tree oil, or colloidal silver
The C and E are critical as they are both needed to form healing tissue. You can also take some internally. The other ingredients have healing properties and some are also anti-bacterial. Once the basic healing has occurred on a lesion, you can continue to make a Vitamin E and C salve to rub on the healing area. I wish you luck, and if you would like to discuss healing further, feel free to private message me.
