Could ISIS fighters be training as warplane pilots capable of turning their weapons on coalition aircraft?
That's the worrying prospect suggested by an unverified report from the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that ISIS has three warplanes in its possession in northern Syria.
The Syrian opposition group also claims, citing reliable sources in Syria, that former Iraqi military officers are training members of the Sunni extremist militant group to fly them.
The planes are at the Al-Jarrah military airport east of the contested city of Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

So much like herding goats.
Uh, no. It takes two years to train a nugget pilot or NFO for the US Navy or Air Force, choosing only top people to undergo two years of insanely intensive training in the best equipment, from the best instructors. There is one word for terrorists "trained" to fly high-performance aircraft: targets.
It might be important to be able to maintenance them too. Nahhhh...
How much would it take to train kamikaze pilots?
My first thought. So dang infuriating and I am not even in the military! Can you imagine flying a fully armed jet over the airport and not being able to fire??
Maybe MIGs are more user friendly?? how about a “smart” MIG? voice operated with Syrian accent recognition?
Anything to give BO a bump.
When you eliminate all thoughts about life and death, you will be able to totally disregard your earthly life. This will also enable you to concentrate your attention on eradicating the enemy with unwavering determination, meanwhile reinforcing your excellence in flight skills.

Like shake n bake or 90 day wonder; but different.
are we still training Islamists at US flight schools - as we did the 9/11 terrorists??
There’s another word for them in Japanese: Kamikaze.
ISIS jihadis are also motivated by religion to consider their suicide death in action against their enemies a victory—but in the Islamic belief system they get to go to a heaven with 72 virgins.
The Japanese Kamikaze in WWII didn’t get much training—nor did the 9/11 pilots. They don’t have to be trained for much piloting expertise beyond takeoff and pointing toward their crash target.
The Current FReepathon Pays For The Current Quarter's Expenses?
Uhm, I think I heard once that some guys were trained to only takeoff, navigate to a location and never land?
Oh, never mind, must have been fiction...
If these are typical fighter planes, it will probably end up the same as the tanks they now have. They won’t be able to maintain them. Hi-tech stuff requires an extensive supply and repair chain.
They only need to fly one way! What is the Range of a Mig? What could they hit? It would have to be someplace without much anti-air protection—That lets out Damascus and Isreal. What about the Russian ships in Syria? What about Baghdad and the Green Zone? Kurds? Basha?
