Between the Islamic persecution and the western persecution of Christianity, there is one glaringly obvious fact that Christians had better wake up to notice.

Christianity is being formally repressed by governments and power elites. Deny it all you want, but the evidence is overwhelming.

How does a Christian fight it? The same justification as put forth in the Declaration: when the abuses and usurpations of culture deny freedom, then God's grant of freedom makes a war for freedom justifiable.

From the article:

"We are on the cultural glideslope that Chicago Archbishop Francis Cardinal George predicted when he said:

“I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square. His successor will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilization, as the church has done so often in human history.”"

You forgot to mention the Vatican persecution of Christianity.

Do you honestly these paltry debates over theological differences compares with Islamic beheadings?

Islam IS a mental health crisis—that was my reaction on reading the title.

But this is fine:

A large rainbow flag hangs from the fourth floor of the Asheville City Building, Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014. Councilman Gordon Smith said all seven members of the Asheville City Council approved hanging the flag as a support for the gay and lesbian members of the community.

With Catholics finding themselves surrounded by a culture war they mostly wanted only a small part of (abortion, etc.), I see a huge potential rift that will largely follow the left/right ideological lines of the present battle over worldview at large.
I think the Church has always known that social justice is not the Gospel; but has played along anyway. It’s not a game any more.

I think the communist Francis is more dangerous to the Catholic Church than any jihadist. If the Catholic Church is going to be destroyed, it is going to be destroyed from within.

The title isn’t really that good is it? I would have gone with: “Religion: the state wants is classified as a looming mental health crisis”

And (of course) a “Big Gulp” :>)

I don’t think Francis begins to compare with Islamic beheadings.

Those actually martyring Christians of all varieties are Islamics. (Sprinkle in some hindus and communists and you have the sources of martyrdom pretty well covered.)

“the Obama Regime’s sentiment that citizens who opposed the Obama Regime ......must be mentally unwell since there could be no other logical rationale why anyone would oppose the world’s greatest sociopolitical system.”

word for word...but for my replacement of the word Obama for Soviet.

those who glory in sin must eliminate the nagging presence of a “religion”..which states that they need to repent.

And (of course) a “Big Gulp” :>)

The Catholic Church has always come out of persecution stronger than it went in.

Francis is doing the same thing to the Church that Obola is doing to the United States.

Isaiah 5: 20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; ...

Honesty about sin is one of the keys. God is saying, "better the man who acknowledges a defect than one who denies reality and tries to explain away a defect, or worse declare a defect to be good."

Didn't take long for the anti-Catholic bigots to weigh in, did it? Christian against Christian attacks are just another form of mental illness, joining forces with the Muslims atheists and Homosexuals.

Congratulations.

You’re like those people who claim that any criticism of Obola is racism.
