Sanders: Middle class must stand together to beat Kochs, ‘billionaire class’

IOWA CITY — Heading into the final month ahead of the 2014 midterm election, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders exhorted fellow progressives to plug away at the unglamorous nuts-and-bolts of the campaign against a “billionaire class whose greed knows no bounds.”

“Everyone in this room understands participating in the political process is the most patriotic thing we can do,” Sanders, the U.S. Senate's longest-serving independent, told about 400 people Sunday at the Johnson County Democratic barbecue.

The polls and prognosticators may paint a bleak picture for the party in the Nov. 4 election, he said, “but if we stand together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish for our great country.”

“While the Koch brothers and the billionaire class have the money, we have the people,” he said.

Sanders, 73, a self-described democratic socialist who is considering a bid for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, brought the Johnson County Democrats to their feet several times in his half-hour speech that laid out a progressive agenda for increasing Social Security benefits and the minimum wage, offering a single-payer Medicare-for-all health care plan, creating 13 million jobs by investing $1 billion in a federal jobs program to rebuild transportation infrastructure and overturning the U.S. Supreme Court's Citizens United decision.

In the face of that struggle, Sanders reminded his audience of the progress that has been made. ....

“That struggle we have not won,” Sanders said. The Koch brothers and their allies “want more and more and more and are prepared to destroy the American middle class to get it.”

Iowa City is probably even further left than any city in Vermont, so that fits.

Sorry Barney. Your Kenyan boy owns a heck of a lot more billionaires than the two libertarian Koch Bros.

Funny thing, the vast majority of those employed by the Koch brothers are middle-class or higher. I would hope that most in the middle-class would understand this and not fail for this idiocy.

The middle class should stand together to fight the government/parasite class, the Soros-Sanders Fascist-Communist cabal.

From another article:
obama blasted Republicans as the party of “billionaires” on Tuesday while mingling with high-rollers at the $26 million estate of Rich Richman

Twenty-five donors paid $32,400 each to get their photo taken with the president. Others paid $10,000 for dinner.

Richman, who built his $10 billion company developing rental housing, lives in the Conyers Farm area, where the minimum lot size is 10 acres. Twenty-five donors paid $32,400 each to get their photo taken with the president. Others paid $10,000 for dinner.

While Obama was schmoozing — and the press pool was playing billiards in the basement — he was also soliciting donations for House Democrats in an e-mail.

“If Republicans win, we know who they’ll be fighting for,” Obama said. “Once again, the interests of billionaires will come before the needs of the middle class.”

Obama arrived from New York City — where he had attended a fundraiser with hedge-fund billionaires George Soros and Paul Tudor Jones — in a convoy of four helicopters that landed at the Greenwich Polo Club.

Conspicuously absent was Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy. The Stamford Advocate reported Malloy, “not wanting to alienate the state’s large bloc of independent voters, might be keeping a safe distance from Obama.”

It’s laughable that any Demonrat would benefit the middle class

They’ve done their best to destroy it

It's not like the Republicans have done a thing to stop it though — we need a second party.

Bernie, ol' buddy, ol' pal, it is you and your socialist ilk who have the long knives out for the middle class. As Lenin recognized early on, the achievement of socialism first requires the destruction of the middle class. Ambition, independence and upward mobility have no place in a socialist society.

1984 has come to America.

No one in this country has done more to destroy the middle class than the democrats and Barak Obama and no one has done more to enrich his crony lib friends.

Looks like their new strategy is to act like they are leaning right and trying to redefine what the Democrat Party stands forAlinksky and Taqiyya style. We’re not going to forget all the division and problems they intentionally created, especially all the lying and deception and end around runs to get to our children in scouting, using the NSA and IRS to target us for political gain, all while trying to remove our constitutional rights.

There are more billionaires and more of the elites and more in “the top 1%” supporting the Dims than the GOP, but Bernie knows his ignorant sheeple don’t know that.

OK Bernie boy— we’ll listen to your shiite if you can show how much better it is to support progressive apparatchik venture socialist democrat liberals—who make millions by raking off taxpayer funded dollars on useless govt “partnerships”. Like: green energy, electric cars, medical marijuana, “free” medical care, community reinvestment act subsidy money going to Fannie and Freddie via Goldman Sachs.... and.....Global Warming (renamed climate change).
WE should trust those aholes over entrepreneurs who build businesses and invest true capital (admittedly there is cronyism at all levels of BIG biz), and employ people in the private sector? And pay taxes— lots of them?

$10,000 a plate fundraisers and $32,000 pictures with Obama are just so middle class.

Buffett, Gates, Lewis, Soros are all lefty Democrats and I bet a lot of others are too.
