I almost think that some people here actually are praying that their is a major outbreak. If someone gets ebola, they get pumped. If they dont then it’s either a false diagnosis or someone supposedly rigged the test.

I am praying that Ebola does not break out in the US.

However you are correct - there are people here and in govt and in the USA population that are hoping for a major outbreak.

Some for political reasons.
Some for changing the society to their conception of Utpoia.
Some for the car wrek on side of the road.

What they all fail to understand is that Viri do not care if you have political, societal or morbid curiosity bent.

Virus just likes a host- and this particular one likes the human host.

We are all at risk if this beastie gets loose in the population.

Trust me, we here in Dallas are holding our collective breaths and praying it’s OVER.

Very good news. I am glad first for the officer and his family.

Has the quasi-family relations of the deceased "patient zero" fared as well so far?

I may not be up to speed on that...

This is a big wake-up call. Perhaps, in the end..the guys did us all a favor? That is, if no one else suffers or dies from Ebola having gotten the infection from patient zero.

Nothing about the family so far. Bizzare they haven’t become infected, IMO. Immunities?

“Those people will have their blood tested and two days later the moonsuit team will show up at their house and take him or her away and disinfect.”

Then all of your belongings will be burned and your dog and cat will be put down.

If it hasn’t been 21 days since his contact with the infected, then he still has more time to wait before declaring all clear.

I've heard some speculation along those lines. It wouldn't be impossible?

The viruses and similar ones which cause this have likely been around for a long time.

Yes, he needs to be watched for symptoms until 21 days.

“I am not going to catch Ebola from a deputy that never had Ebola”

Perhaps not from this deputy, but from somebody else who was infected by this deputy, if he shows up ebola.

Fear mongers? With a level 4 pathogen?

If you aren't a little afraid of that you haven't been paying attention.

As to "Chagrin", NO.

I hope and pray this man who went in without any of the most basic protections stays healthy.

He did as ordered, his duty, and if he comes out of that unscathed it will be the equivalent of walking naked through Falujah during the thick of things and coming out without a scratch.

So I hope and pray, as I am sure do many here that he is well, not just for his sake but for that of his family and friends as well.

But if you were standing in front of me and called me either a fear monger or said I would be disappointed to see him well, you'd be having a very bad day.

“Perhaps not from this deputy, but from somebody else who was infected by this deputy, if he shows up ebola.”

The deputy does not and did not have Ebola. Therefore, he did not and will not infect anyone with Ebola. And the people he did not infect with Ebola will not infect anyone else with Ebola.
