Che Guevara: The Man, the Myth, the Atrocities

Today marks 47 years since the death of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara—an international terrorist responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent people.

Despite Che’s murderous history, the Left continues to glorify and idolize him. Images of Che’s face can be seen on t-shirts, coffee mugs, keychains, and sweatshirts—ironic because he wasn’t a proponent of free-markets. Students walk around their campuses wearing shirts with Che’s image on it, yet they have no idea of the atrocities he committed. Unfortunately, most students either ignore this part of his story or are never truly informed about his actions.

Every year Young America’s Foundation sponsors “No More Che Day” on October 9, the day of Che’s death. “No More Che Day” is designed to educate campus communities about Che’s cult of violence. This day brings awareness to the negative effects of socialism and what the ultimate goal of socialism is—conformity or death.

I always get a chuckle (more like a wave of nausea) when I see dim wits like carlos santana wearing a che t-shirt. The latino doesn't have a clue that he is exactly the type of scum that his hero would have shot(or had someone else do it) without a second thought.

Yikes! I’m old enough to remember watching the Movietone News at the theater showing castro and che and the “freedom” fighters and their efforts to overthrow the Cuban govt. Like it was a good thing.

I had no idea Che said ".... To establish socialism, rivers of blood must flow.." OR “the victory of socialism is well worth millions of atomic victims.”

I have a new respect for Che, at least he was honest about the cost and true nature of socialism.

It would make for a great "Watters World" segment for him to visit college campuses to interview kids in Che Guevara tee-shirts. Classically funny television, for sure.

The motorcycle diary hero was an evil POS and typical of most elitists. Do as I say, not as I do. Do you suppose that fidel and his brother live like the peons in Cuba? Um, nope. Just like all despots, they live high on the hog and the peons eat dirt. Kinda how it is with socialists.

Wikipedia perpetrates the myth:

Ernesto "Che" Guevara (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈtʃe ɣeˈβaɾa];[7] June 14,[1] 1928 – October 9, 1967), commonly known as el Che or simply Che, was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a ubiquitous countercultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture.[8]

-snip-

"I have yet to find a single credible source pointing to a case where Che executed 'an innocent'. Those persons executed by Guevara or on his orders were condemned for the usual crimes punishable by death at times of war or in its aftermath: desertion, treason or crimes such as rape, torture or murder. I should add that my research spanned five years, and included anti-Castro Cubans among the Cuban-American exile community in Miami and elsewhere." — Jon Lee Anderson, author of Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life, PBS forum[113]

Gosh Slim, I do wish you would stop harping on unpleasant facts.

Che, Raúl, and Fidel simply had to personally execute many hundreds if not thousands of anti-revolutionaries because they were trying to prevent the proletariat from creating a workers' paradise in Cuba. Of course, they wouldn't dream of ordering their people to do anything they wouldn't do themselves. Raúl and Che would often execute prisoners with their .45s before enjoying breakfast together. BTW, that's now a meal few Cubans get to enjoy these days.

It was dirty work, but someone had to do it for the greater glory of Marxism in this hemisphere. When I am not punching the lights out of Loonie Leftists who have created a mental fantasy paradise led by Fidel, I often ask the Spielberg look-alikes if would they object if I wore a Hitler Tee Shirt.

BTW, the new, warmer and cuddly Cuban regime recently decided to go after Loonie Left Environmentalists by hosting a "Permaculture Convergence" ( O, look it up) The Birkenstockers headed there and even they were appalled by the Potemkin Village tours they were given, each of the obamageeekoids shepherded by a member of the Cuban Youth, complete with red scarf. They had to stay in camps with an impenetrable perimeter as they were shown the small, "organic" plots by which Cubans are supposed to feed themselves. No mention of the hundreds of thousands of acres of primeval forest cleared by Fidel to grow sugar to sell to the Soviet Union. Nor for that matter, the prison islands to which AIDS victims are sent into quarantine. Cuba is riddled with AIDS as a legacy of Fidel's Communism-building in Africa. Other islands for gays, with AIDS or without. In short, perhaps thousands upon thousands of political prisoners.

Of course, the Permaculturists are still wearing their Che Guevara Tee Shirts. It's a religion. They only dared question it momentarily.

Question: WTF Happens when Fidel and Raúl die? Look for a replay of Haiti under Papa Doc and Baby Doc as the Afro-Cuban army generals take over for a reign of terror in order to preserve the perks which the Castro regime has showered upon them.

When I moved to chicago i met a great older couple from Cuba. Wonderful religious people who fell for castro’s bs. The mom ran guns for castro and when it all turned around they had to flee the island because they were marked for death by che’s gang. Let her see you wearing one of those shirts.

Not too many of those shirts in Florida I am sure.
