Snicker! :-)
“With that theory then respirator filters should never need changing no?”
What theory was that. I didn’t say filters don’t get clogged. Just that the more particle mater that gets trapped the smaller the particle that will get trapped.
Actually respirators that I have used, I can begin to tell I am breathing in other crap except for air, not that it gets clogged after a certain point. Sort of the same idea of a vacuum bag, even the ones you can shake out, after a certain point the smell and smaller particles will permeat the bag, and the same with the filters over time.
That sounds like a sensible definition, but it's not the medical definition. If a virus is not easily/primarily transmitted through the air, it's not considered "airborne", even if it's in the air. It is extremely important with Ebola to understand these technical details if you want to understand what the statements about this disease mean. It's not "airborne", but it can (with a dramatically lower risk than viruses such as the flu) be transmitted through the air.
... And the woman walking drags her train through the water ... Back home.
I never heard of a n85. We use a n95 mask in hospital for AFB(read tuberculosis) patients.
