CNSNews.com) - The number of Americans on food stamps has topped 46,000,000 for 35 straight months, according to data from the Department of Agriculture (USDA).
From September 2011 through July 2014, the latest month for which data is available, the number of persons participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has exceeded 46 million. As of July 2014, there were 46,486,434 beneficiaries of the SNAP program.

This highlights the insanity of the Welfare State. Everyone becomes eligible for a handout paid for by “the rich.” Until, that is, people wake up and realize that “the rich” is them.
The total population of the United States didn’t pass 46 million until 1880.

A lot of retirees qualify for food stamps - the thing is, once a person signs up for food stamps then that opens the floodgates! Food stamp recipients qualify for a lot of other “freebies” like dental work, eyeglasses, ... truly unbelievable.
this is important news as the election approaches.
The Democrats believe that Food Stamps are a membership card to their Party. So they offer the stamps, along with their continuing high taxes and regulatory hurdles for businesses, which increase the communities “need” for Food Stamps.
It’s a self-sustaining circle designed by the Democrats. It will work until the voters wise up. But the Democrats control the education system as well.
They’re (socialists) trying to engulf as many as possible into the welfare snare. Seniors are one of their newest targets.

I was on food stamps for three months when I lost a job. They helped. But I got to work again.
