I have long maintained that if Obamacare continues the US health care system will split into two classes of care.

The majority of Americans will be left waiting in line at clinic for a 10 minute visit with a nurse practitioner or physicians assistant. If you are deemed by government "guidelines" as needing to see an actual physician there will be a wait of weeks. After seeing a physician and again if deemed by government "guidelines" you need to see a specialist more waiting. Government "guidelines" (death panels) will stringently limit care especially for the elderly and those with prior chronic conditions and there will be no appeal.

However, if you have money and political connections you will have red carpet access to the premier medical centers in the US like the Mayo clinic. This will include members of Congress, the judiciary, the executive branch and liberal elites.

My advantage plan is going from $40 a month to $96 a month.

That's my food and gas money. And that's in addition to the $105 they take right out of my SS check.

I see the plan....They want you to beg the government for an advantage plan so they can just take anything they want out of your SS check.

If you work at a hospital I am sure you have seen the retirement of many PCPs and other GPs.

When you add millions to the rolls, but haven’t added Doctors—you have an imbalance that is really going to screw up the system.

I believe the goal of the Obamacare folks is not health insurance reform, but rather the consolidation of healthcare and insurance into a single entity.

The result will be the complete collapse of the personal insurance industry and the destruction of the medical elite. If the specializing doctors cannot make their big payday, they will stop moving their careers along. OR they will simply move over to an all cash elite only medical system.

In the end, this will have wide ranging impacts on the medical field, the insurance business, and the research industry. Yes, the field will be leveled. Along with a huge portion of our economy.

100 years from now the medical practice in the country will rival that of the 1930’s before medical insurance became a benefit as a reaction to wage and price controls during WWII.

I really dont think most people consider what a disaster the loss of the insurance companies is going to be.

All people can think of is the stockholders of those companies.

When the insurance companies fail, most of Hartford CT and the surrounding area is going to fall apart. There are hundreds of thousands working in that business. They are not all going to go to work for the government.

I know people consider the ultimate goal of the insurance scheme is to consolidate healthcare. But this has so little to do with healthcare. Somewhere, some time, the folks that run the insurance companies really pissed off the wrong people.

“In other words, only the wealthy will have good health care.”

...and isn’t that the leftist diatribe that gave us Obama Care in the first place? The word “gave” doesn’t really describe the travesty, butt hay.

So what has changed?
