Videos showing Islamic extremists beheading western hostages are putting young Britons off pursuing jihad in the Middle East, one of the UK’s most senior police officers has suggested.
Sir Peter Fahy, the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, said footage of the shocking murders had backfired as far as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was concerned, serving as a deterrent rather than a recruiting poster.
Sir Peter, who is leads on counterterror for the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) said the “sheer brutality” of the ISIL footage was discouraging young British Muslims from getting involved.
But he warned that the videos were leading to a rise in Islamophobia within the UK, with a marked increase in the number of hate crimes being carried out against innocent Muslims. Sir Peter said: “The very violent activities of Islamic State and their sheer brutality and their sheer disregard of any concept of human rights whatsoever is discouraging people from going out there. The videos have shown the risks that people face getting involved in this in any way.

Unfortunately, such is the nature of the Muslim mind-set, these videos are inspiring just as many as are being “turned-off.”
Sad that some errr, Asian youth, need actual beheading videos to convince them orthodox Islam is not the answer....

Well, that’s a matter of opinion, innit? I mean, what exactly is an “innocent” Muslim? One who was forcibly converted? A child not old enough to escape the cult yet?

The saddest part of that photo is that I only see one child who looks like they might actually be disturbed by what they are seeing. All the rest are giddy, brainwashed zombies already.

Looking at the US, I don’t see anything similar, except maybe the occasional motorcycle gang, and they are motivated more by money than patriotism or neighborhood team spirit.

Those beheadings are purely random violence, they are not racist or terrorism. Our media say so.
In self-defense, or in the defense of others, I can imagine doing what has to be done. But the idea of sawing off someone's head is purely demonic.
I am a little disappointed that this has been going on since John the Baptist, at least.
