Deadly spin game - Iran’s nukes just keep on going

The Obama administration looks set to go weak in the knees in life-or-death negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.

From the start, the United States and its allies have pressed the mullahs to disable all but about 1,500 of their centrifuges.

The logic: With that many machines in operation, should Tehran flip the switch to begin enriching weapons-grade nuclear material, the process of amassing enough uranium for an atom bomb would take a year.

Cold comfort, but better than nothing.

All the while, Iran has insisted that it needs all 9,400 of its spinning centrifuges, which, of course, ha ha, it swears up and down are reserved solely for peaceful purposes.

A tentative new offer from the U.S. — one of many, negotiators insist — would meet the mullahs halfway, and let them keep up to 4,500 centrifuges. Apparently, the U.S. conceives of a fail-safe that would cut off the stock of uranium gas being fed into the enrichment machines.

The Iranian regime — in league with terrorists, eager to dominate the Middle East, intent on eliminating Israel — has systematically deceived international inspectors for years. This has earned it reprimands and sanctions galore — sanctions that were beginning to bite before the U.S. loosened the noose as a supposed show of good faith.

After all that, a final deal that allows Tehran to maintain half its enrichment capacity would be an embarrassing and tragically dangerous failure.

This song and dance has been going on for so long, they surely already have enough enriched uranium for multiple warheads already. At this point, we’ll just detect an underground test someday soon, and Iran will be in the nuclear club already, while these do-nothings are still negotiating.

The thing is, that Obama seems a bit more Sunni than Shiite. He’s active in the Sunni areas of the Middle East, and he attended a Sunni mosque in Indonesia. If there’s a Shiite bomb, that doesn’t seem to work. There’s no way of telling whether the Iranians will go after the Sunnis or the Jews or Christendom. Does “O” really think his powers of persuasion will steer history?

I don't think he believes there's anything he can't do.

The Putter trusts the Israelis will take care of it.

Trying to get others to do his job is his second main activity, right after golf.

I don't think he believes there's anything he can't do.

Or, convince others to do. That's the community organizer MO.

Or, convince others to do.

In his mind, it's all him.
