A friend said that if one becomes rabid (foaming at the mouth) and they try to drink water they can’t - their body reacts to bringing the glass of water up. Somehow the virus “knows” that the water will reduce the foaming (and the transmission) - and prevents the body from drinking. (Hands start to shake, etc.)

Had to google that. The article said 1 in 4 have the disease! But few show symptoms, which include delayed reaction time (say driving) and self-cutting in women. Not sure how that benefits the cat.
