IIRC, our old warriors like Eisenhower and Patton read about the art of war. They also prayed a lot.
The “threat” as perceived by the Current Occupant may not frighten him, but his almost total degree of detachment and his history of inaction in the face of real crisis pretty much has most of the rest of us cringing. Whatever the Current Regime offers up, to “contain” ISIS, will do little to be recognized as real “pushback”. The forces arrayed in opposition to the US have seen how previous confrontations had been handled, and are scaling their attacks accordingly.
Just another phony “red line” that was drawn in disappearing ink on the sand.
