“eighteen is too young to vote. Perhaps 21 but I would prefer 25.”

If you pay more in taxes than you receive in benefits, you may vote.

A “yes” vote can be based on only two things: Ignorance or emotion. Of course, those who do vote yes will deny that. Flame away.

*It’s bad enough 18-year-olds here can vote.

16 may be too young to vote under normal circumstances, but when the issue being voted on is, literally, the way their country will be governed for the rest of those 16 year old’s lives, why shouldn’t they have a say? Either way, after today Scotland will have had her chance to decide on her future.

He even said (paraphrasing) “From each from their abilities to each for their needs”.

This is what Lenin said - this is absolute communism - what the & is going on?

At 16 you pay taxes, can join the armed forces, get married, have children. You can’t buy cigarettes or alcohol.
We should consider taking the vote off people over 70 they don’t have long left to live so shouldn’t be allowed to decide on the future.

"After an intense final day of campaigning, voters turned up at polling stations in schools and halls as soon they opened at 0600 GMT on a day that will decide the fate of a 307-year-old union"

I would bet that this is the only site on the web where 75%+ posters would know that GMT = G. Mean Time.

Yes, but I alays pronounced "Greenwich" like "sandwich".

I lost style points the first time I said it in public.

My experience with that age group leads me to believe the majority are not exactly well informed deep thinkers.
