Constitution Day and My Birthday- Concurrent
Vanity | Vendome

Posted on 09/17/2014 8:37:36 AM PDT by Vendome

So I’m at an observance of Constitution Day last week and in a contest, testing our knowledge of the constitution.

Now, I’m gonna win and I’m one question away.

The moderator asks: “Besides Constitution Day, what other day is celebrated concurrently? “.

“My Birthday!” I yelled.

“Wrong Answer” replied the Mod.

“You call my Mom on Wednesday and tell her that!” I protested.

The Mod says “Anyone know the answer?”.

So I’m looking around and . . . Nothing.

No one answered.

I turned to the gal behind me and whispered “Citizenship Day” and she yelled out the same.

Afterward, many people came up to tell me I’d been robbed and should have won.

“Mom’s not gonna be happy when she hears her son got dissed” I mused.

We all laughed.

Happy Birthday to me.

Happy Constitution Day.

Happy Citizenship Day.

Ah man!

Reminds me of going to Independence Hall, Ceasar Rodney and touring the George Read House, in New Castle, Delaware.

One thing that enrages me about both Massachusetts license plates and Connecticut plates is that they both feature patently false claims.Massachusetts plates say "The Spirit of America" which may have been true once but is no longer.More like "The Spirit of North Korea" I'd say.Connecticut plates read "Constitution State" which, given the states clear contempt for the Second Amendment is also patently false.

Two states willfully engaged in false advertising.

Well, “Constitution State” ought to be given to Delaware.

However, they have appropriate motto:
“First State”.

Ceasar Rodney rode some 80 miles, in the rain, to reach Independence Hall and ensure Delaware was the 1st state ratifying the Constitution.

George Reed of course was another signer.

You have to visit his home.

Beautiful red brick, stupendous lawn and an awesome view looking at the “Strand” or Delaware River.

Thanks LP! I hope that you and yours are well.

Happy birthday, Vendome.

I picked this as my screen name years ago since it is my birthday as well. September 17th was and is an auspicious day!
