There were many hippies who lived on communes and were “survivalists.” I guess the media forgets these things. /rhetorical

They are saying the shooting was over in minutes, with just four shots being fired in total, but this source has it going on far longer:
www.pennlive.com...
10:51 p.m. Paramedics are first called to the state police barracks for a shooting. “There are two victims at this time,” a dispatcher said.
11:26 p.m. Fire police setting up the landing zone at I-84 and Route 402 report: “We are under fire. We are moving the landing zone to the middle school.”
“Received reports that you are under fire,” a 911 dispatcher says.
Landing zone is then moved to the Wallenpaupack Middle School on Atlantic Avenue, about eight miles away.

In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill. PERIOD. Winning by attrition. Well RAMBO WAS THE BEST!

Scanner report on cop killer: “Positive ID made of suspect”
Law enforcement seems to be closing in on trooper shooting suspect Eric Frein in the Barrett Township area where they have been searching for the last five days, according to scanner reports.
According to scanner reports, a positive ID has been made on Frein in the area.
The Record’s Andrew Scott reports: Lancaster County Sheriffs K-9 unit pulled up to Clark’s Road blockade. Man wearing a US Marshals Fugitive Task Force T-shirt asked a volunteer firefighter at blockade for directions and then took off.

Rudolph had the help of the locals for a long time. He was finally discovered dumpster diving for dinner in a small town. He was no Green Beanie, just an 11B pfc dog faced, straight leg infantry. But he gave 'em a good run for their money!

I was. I qualified expert on every weapon in the basic infantry TO&E, I was also made XO of the Division pistol team (composite bullseye). I think all infantry officers should be expert marksmen. When I did that rare move of a branch transfer to Armor, I did the same thing with the tank.

The whole thing now smacks of a “made-for-TV special,” or the latest in Reality Shows. I think it is significant that Frein’s only known employment history is in the movie/entertainment business. In other words, in the field of simulating reality. Frein is supposed to have been an enthusiastic military simulations—”Mil-Sim”—reenactor. So I wonder if what we are seeing here is a “Pol-Sim”—a police simulation.

If the cops either capture or kill him without him firing another shot, I'll agree to that probability (Police Simulation). But if he starts adding to his current kill streak, I'm gonna have to disagree. I heard that an AK47 was discovered along with some ammo and "gear." If that was a pre-positioned cache then it's no big deal. He'll have others. I've seen a lot of postings here on FR that attempt to diminish his capabilities to last any length of time. Others cite inevitability based on the LEO technology and use of FLIR assets, etc.
I'm not so certain I'd want to make any hasty judgments based on this stuff. His mother recently said that he would go off into the woods for days at a time and he's been planning this for quite some time. I know what I'd do in that period of time, even if I wasn't a trained infantry officer. And eluding technology ain't that difficult. Especially if he's had time to prepare. I'm going to hold off on making a snap prediction on a fast ending to this story. Of course, I've been wrong before! LOL
