Bay Area law enforcement officials are turning to Facebook and Twitter to combat prostitution by posting names and photos of men arrested on solicitation charges.
Police departments that have taken to shaming "johns" on social media include Oakland, Richmond and Fresno.
The move has garnered some controversy, with lawyers and legal experts worrying that defendants who might be ultimately innocent could see their reputations tarnished because of the postings, SFGate reported.

I think if they are going to shame folks in the social media, they should start with any law enforcement officer or city government official who is busted for a criminal infraction.
That was some woman protesting her rape.
Why just men who get arrested on solicitation charges ?
Why not post the photos and info of all criminals ?
I guess the difference would be that, “sluts,” to use your terminology, have sex with willing partners for free, whereas, “johns,” have sex with people who may have been forced into that role for money. Especially if the provider is underage, enslaved, or enslaved to drugs.
I’m astonished that any kind of sexual activity is illegal in the Bay Area.

And yet they think it a crime for video taping them during an arrest.
There’s operation going on in both Europe and the U.S., given the human trafficking problem. Going after the buyers of prostitution is more effective, especially when the human traffickers infiltrate countries were prostitution is legal.
Politicians? Prostitutes? Or one and the same?

Who needs courts and legal system, the police have already convicted and sentenced you, and it can’t be undone.
I don’t think prostitutes are as bad as politicians.
I contend that you can't sell what is free for the taking and highly desired, until there was some profession that you could call on for protection.
