Claire McCaskill: Kris Kobach ‘finger on the scales’

Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill on Friday accused Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach of “putting his finger on the scales” by disallowing Democratic Senate nominee Chad Taylor to withdraw from the ballot.

McCaskill, an out-of-state Democrat, has come under scrutiny for a conversation she had with Taylor that shortly preceded his decision to attempt to drop out of the Kansas Senate race. Several reports have suggested that McCaskill urged Taylor to withdraw from the ballot, allowing Democrats to rally around independent Greg Orman to unseat incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Roberts. Orman has a lead over Roberts in a head-to-head race, according to recent polls.

The Missouri Democrat said the secretary of State’s office had “approved the language” of Taylor’s withdrawal before he submitted.

McCaskill is mean spirited and looks sour all the time.

Kobach, Todd Akin and Pat Roberts are all opposed to amnesty, abortion and to Murkowski worship.

McCaskill and Orman support abortion and amnesty. Orman thinks Murkowski or Heidi Heitkamp(97% of the time votes with Reid) should be majority leader.

Election laws were never intended to apply to Democrats, only Republicans.

I think old Pat Roberts could use the base after all. They aren’t there and it shows.

Miss us yet? :)

Roberts was always the Conservative choice. Wolf was an empty suit with no credentials other than being a relative of Zero. The only people not supporting Roberts now are the leftist “Moderate” (sic) Republican contingent that would rather have another Communist (Orman) in the Senate.

You've hit the truth nail on its head friend!

Wolf is only slightly less onerous than lefty Orman!

“putting his finger on the scales” is what Judge Relativism did in Louisiana in the Landreau case.

McCaskill is too realize that Kobach and Roberts want every liberal Democrat to attack them, implying Orman is a Democrat and Roberts will vote more like Jeff Sessions than Claire McCaskill.

Claire’s mean spiritedness comes from buyer’s remorse. She was VERY instrumental in hiding Obama’s citizenship problems. Her love for the shiny, lisping, skinny Arab has soured.

Roberts was always the Conservative choice.

You're speaking for yourself. Many conservatives did not choose Roberts in the primary for reasons of his association with the family legacy, permanent Washington political class phenomenon. You are correct about where things stand now.

Many Kansas Republicans are Democrats in thoughts, words, and deeds but who cannot bring themselves to become Democrats and seldom vote for them. Orman calls himself an independent, so he's a safe choice. Of course, he's a Democrat and the more this McCaskill scheme becomes known, the less viable Orman will be.

I find it curious how folks are trying to have it both ways. If Roberts was “unacceptable” to Conservatives for the claims made against him, that means the “Moderates” (sic) would be ecstatic at his renomination and Orman’s support (prior to the Dem candidate withdrawal) would’ve been paltry. But said “Moderates” don’t like that Roberts is an actual Conservative (more so than anyone else in 50 years, including Moran) and they’re supporting Orman.

If disgruntled Wolf supporters are supporting the leftist Orman (now the candidate of both the Democrats and the “Moderate” Republicans), that would mean they weren’t really Conservative to begin with, hence my conclusion about Roberts being the Conservative choice in the primary.
