Local reaction to ISIS beheadings

Topeka (KSNT) – “Life is sacred, life is valuable and just murdering and killing innocent people is one of the worst crimes that humans can commit.” says Imam Omar Hazim

He says the beheadings and other acts of ISIS are not in the Quran, and are not reflective of Muslims or Islamic teachings.

When it comes to backlash within the community, Imam Hazim says, “Personally, in our community in Topeka, we didn’t have any.”

The Islamic Center has been active in the community for years.

Hazim says, “This community knows the people of their community, the Muslims of their community, because we have worked very hard in this community to establish good relationships with our neighbors. City officials, government officials.”

Laura Currah disagrees. “I’ve lost friends and family because I’ve converted to Muslim,” says Currah.

Currah has even seen parents tell their children not to play with her daughter anymore, because she’s Muslim.

Muslim leaders like Hazim continue to publicly distance themselves from ISIS. One method was a public letter signed by national Muslim leaders condemning the extremism of groups which include ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

However, “Most people that are half-way educated and informed about Islam. They know how to separate the difference,” says Hazim.

I saw the teaser for this story last night, and it infuriated me. The teaser was "Isis beheads another journalist. We talk to Topeka's Imams to see if local muslims are being blamed.

And if you read the story - the story of the brutal beheadings isn't about its barbarity, or the family of the victim, or how we might prevent the next one. No, the most pressing issue is whether or not local muslims are being mistreated...you know...as a result of the beheadings.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.

And even less believe a Muslim...especially a Muslim Imam.

Take your religion back to the seventh century.

NOW!

Many Americans who convert, such as the ditz quoted in this article, are just attention seeking progressives in search of the coveted title of victim.

I'd kick her arse cause she's an American hating jerk, not a muslim.

I'd wager she was a wicken this time last year and will be a rastafarian this time next.

Maddening. It IS the subhuman savage ideology that is responsible for this! It is in their indoctrination book.

If you are a Mooslim you adhere to the Holy book of Lucifer then you are comanded to kill innocents. Convert or die, it is also a commandment to lie to non believers. This not God. God does not tolerate killing and lying. Mooslim are dishonest killers.

He says the beheadings and other acts of ISIS are not in the Quran, and are not reflective of Muslims or Islamic teachings.

Then do something about it!

All they do is say something like this to defend the "religion of peace" and then go back to whatever they were doing the moment before. Sure wish one of these "peaceful" types would do something to stop the killers.

Take your religion back to the seventh century.

That's exactly what they're doing.

No matter how much the “moderate” Muslims may want to soften these very harsh measures called for in the Koran, the words are still there, and there is no moderating effect for the 10% to 25% of Muslims who have no inkling whatsoever about the “Golden Rule” as it applies to non-Muslims, or any clue as to what the context of the “Ten Commandments” pertains to.

And every Muslim is a potential powder keg, with no form of reliable warning about when the next thing that comes along is going to ignite his jihadist fuse.

RE: He says the beheadings and other acts of ISIS are not in the Quran, and are not reflective of Muslims or Islamic teachings.

How does he explain this passage in the Quran?

Quran 8:12:

“When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”

And while he’s at it, could he kindly explain this passage?

[Quran 47.4]

So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so); and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish.

Exactly.

Lies of omission/obfuscation.

Coincidentally, Barack Obama’s FAVORITE kind of lie.

Sira, p463-4: Then they {a Jewish tribe of Medina} surrendered, and the apostle confined them in Medina in the quarter of d. al-Harith, a woman of Bani al-Najjar. Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. Among them was the enemy of Allah Huyayy bin Akhtab and Kab bin Asad their chief. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900. As they were being taken out in batches to the Apostle (Mohammed) they asked Kab what he thought would be done with them. He replied, “Will you never understand? Don’t you see that the summoner never stops and those who are taken away do not return? By Allah it is death!” This went on until the Apostle made an end of them.

Since Mohammed is considered the ideal man, anything he did is by definition (for Muslims) the height of morality.

Worse than slandering the “prophet” of Islam?

There is no such thing as a ‘moderate muslim’, except in the imaginations of our Western leaders. Take the word of the head of Turkey’s government for that: “The term ‘moderate Islam’ is ugly and offensive. There is no Moderate Islam. Islam is Islam” — PM R. Erdogan.
