Having solved all other problems, Obama to fix your dishwasher

I guess he really was multitasking out on the golf course. The President’s team has been hard at work behind the scenes, coming up with a strategy … well, maybe we should say plan, to address the nation’s many challenges.

Spurred by President Obama’s climate action plan, the Department of Energy is pumping out new standards for refrigerators, dishwashers, air conditioners, ceiling fans, furnaces, boilers, water heaters, lamps and many more appliances.

The administration says the standards will not only help the planet but also stimulate the economy by saving consumers money on their energy bills that they can spend elsewhere.

After what we’ve been through with energy regulations, you’d think the administration would be at least a little hesitant to leap in for another grab at that brass ring. I mean, won’t a sudden raft of new requirements for the products everyone has to purchase have some, er… unintended consequences? William Teach seems to have been thinking along the same lines.

Gosh, I know I’ll sleep better for having all those “new standards”. (Do I need the tag?)

Now that Obama has saved America from the Bitter Clingers he has focused his energies on Saving The World from inefficient appliances, large and small!

Is there no end to the sacrifices this paragon will make to benefit mankind?

I dream of a day when news from the Federal Government comes rarely and it regards matters of serious concern.

Dishwasher energy use is a consumer choice matter; not a Federal one.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

I keep telling my friends and relatives to take very good care of their old appliances and hold on to them for as long as possible. All these energy efficient, climate friendly appliances don’t do the job of older models, they break down easily and cost a fortune to repair.

This is sticking it to the productive people of this nation. Has nothing to do with climate.

My dishwasher is so efficient now, I need to run it twice sometimes to get clean dishes.

“The administration says the standards will not only help the planet but also stimulate the economy by saving consumers money on their energy bills that they can spend elsewhere.”

Chortle. Of course we won’t talk about the increased cost or lessened durability of the appliances under these new idiotic regulations

They would have come up with guidelines for a new whole house filter for purifying your bath water, but the democrat party is too committed to throwing out the baby.

Next step, outlaw all "obsolete" appliances and force consumers to replace them all.

Just think of the economic stimulus to the big-government/big-corporate crony-fascist complex!

We'll be able to spend our money replacing major appliances every 2 years instead of every 20 when those low-powered, over-torqued, "energy-efficient" motors burn out.
