To put it another way, an area the size of Alaska, America’s biggest state, was open water two years ago, but is again now covered by ice. The most widely used measurements of Arctic ice extent are the daily satellite readings issued by the US National Snow and Ice Data Center, which is co-funded by Nasa. These reveal that – while the long-term trend still shows a decline – last Monday, August 25, the area of the Arctic Ocean with at least 15 per cent ice cover was 5.62 million square kilometres.
This was the highest level recorded on that date since 2006 (see graph, right), and represents an increase of 1.71 million square kilometres over the past two years – an impressive 43 per cent.
Other figures from the Danish Meteorological Institute suggest that the growth has been even more dramatic. Using a different measure, the area with at least 30 per cent ice cover, these reveal a 63 per cent rise – from 2.7 million to 4.4 million square kilometers.

This eclipses the old record of 2231 days (6.11 years) set 19 Oct 1906. Since Global Warming predicts an increase in both frequency and severity of hurricanes, this record breaking calm spell is ... wait for it ... proof of Global Warming.
To put this record in some perspective:
The last time a Major League ballplayer hit over .400 was in 1941, when Ted Williams' batting average was .406, this record standing for 72 years now. If a player was to better his average by a proportional amount to the current calm spell record, he would have to hit .588.
And despite hard facts showing this new ice cover, our radical ideologue “a pen and a phone” president feels the problems are so urgent, that he threatens to do a climate change deal with the UN without congressional approval, which will certainly cost taxpayers even more money for leftists’ redistribution schemes.
Hey, how about doing a deal with the UN to exterminate ISIS/ISIL while you’re at it? Tackling an imminent threat to the homeland would rank ahead of a phony global warming problem a 100 years from now. But then only clear-thinking adults would see that, something we don’t have in the Obama administration.

They stated that variations of arctic ice conditions was the result of increased activity of underwater small to medium arctic and polar volcanoes or “smokers” that were unusually active rather than atmospheric conditions.The current erruption in Iceland is an example.

I would have no surprise if there was, in fact, global warming. Arguing that point is a losing endeavor. Maybe yes, maybe no. But, that is not in any way the issue. It is whether the activities of modernization (cars, a/c, industry, etc.) has anything to do with climate change. Of course, it does not. Chicago had 1500 feet of glacial ice over it, all of which melted before there were any inhabitants of Chicago other than mollusks, and the like.
It is taking the liberals bait to argue about which direction climate is changing. One has a 50% change of being wrong.
