House Committee: DOJ Lawyers Have ‘Conflict of Interest’ In IRS Case

Congressional investigators made another call for the appointment of an IRS scandal special prosecutor after discovering that key lawyers for the scandal-plagued agency have a “conflict of interest” in the case.

Department of Justice tax division attorney Andrew Strelka, who represented the IRS in litigation related to the scandal, worked under Lerner at the IRS Exempt Organizations division from 2008 to 2010. While at the agency, Strelka was part of the IRS’ conservative targeting scheme, according to documents obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and provided to The Daily Caller.

“Be on the lookout for a tea party case,” IRS manager Ronald Shoemaker wrote to Strelka and others, including Washington-based Lerner underling Carter Hull, on March 17, 2010. “If you have received or do receive a case in the future involving an exemption for organization having to do with tea party let me know.”

I have a sneaky suspicion that Obama will seek early retirement for family or health related issues...

Nope, he’ll totally slide on this.

The reason that all the great lengths are being taken to cover up what the IRS did was it all leads back to Obama and the D o’ J.

Lerner will take a fall before she turns over anything incriminating. Besides, the House doesn’t seem too interested in pursuing this anyway.

Are all government employees criminals? No one “whistle blows” or resigns in the midst of this snake pit or corruption and evil. How far people have fallen. Criminals and co-conspirators all.

The illegal action taken by the IRS…(scroll about halfway down the above link)

Whether they have a state-based, state-federal partnership or federally facilitated exchange. Since the IRS is not a Legislative branch, this action was illegal. It was not authorized by Congress and as such it should not stand.

Worse yet, President Obama is following this new proposed rule as if it was codified law. This illegal action taken by the IRS and President Obama’s support of it is the crux of the Halbig v Burwell case.

Tucker wrote another article about how the IRS goes after whistleblowers (I’ll try to find later)

Amazing, it took over 200 years to get to the government that our Founding Fathers warned us about. Then we have our elected representatives sitting there with their collective thumbs up their a$$ waiting for the whistle to blow so they can switch hands.

Dismantle the IRS

I respectfully submit that the IRS is not the problem. The problem is the laws passed by Congress, the regulations created to implement those laws, and the court cases that interpret the laws and regulations against sets of facts. When you have a solid set of laws, regulations, and interpretations, then the IRS ceases to be the bogeyman.

“I will add, as a fifth circumstance in the situation of the House of Representatives, restraining them from oppressive measures, that they can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society.” - The Federalist No. 57
