Ethnicity or color be damned. This ain’t Ferguson, it’s Texas. It’s the attitude that matters. It ain’t all rainbows and unicorns down here. On occasion there are some bad-ass people you will have to deal with or avoid. Don’t believe me then answer a Craigslist ad or two.
Sounds like the neighbor was aware the perp was potentially loco. Crazy people do crazy things, so no doubt the neighbor knew the situation immediately when he heard about the incident.
So sad, but could have been anyone of us who had to deal with this individual on a daily basis. Be aware and be prepared. It didn’t have to end this way. They don’t lock these people up anymore. The streets are full of crazies, sexual predators, felons, and other assorted liberals (/s).
Again. Texans are friendly, but they will shoot your ass if they feel their lives are threatened. I guess we’re all a little crazy in that case.

I hope you enjoyed your stay, even though the hill country is not as fine an attraction for tourists-or transplants-as it was before Obama. Where do you live? I hope things are financially better there than here in tourist country.
Mexicans from Mexico are just about the only people who can afford to vacation here in family numbers any more, which is pretty ironic-snowbirds no longer have the money-perhaps you noticed how empty the RV parks are, and how many businesses that catered to tourists are now closed in comparison to years before about 2009...
The workers were likely green cards, which is legal-a lot of them work the whole tourist season here, year after year-most of them speak English, too though they aren’t about to let you know that-I work on construction sites, so I do know a bit about that, aside from being bilingual and of Hispanic/Texican ancestry myself. Any business owner who hires illegals is asking for a visit from la migra. If the cleaning ladies are mojados, then that motel owner will be reported soon enough...
