15 contradictions you have to believe to fit in with pop culture
LifeSiteNews ^ | 8/21/14 | Ben Johnson

One of the great quotations of our time is from James Burnham, a former Trotskyite Communist-turned-conservative who became an editor at National Review.

Fifty years ago, he wrote in his book Suicide of the West that “Modern liberalism, for most liberals, is not a consciously understood set of rational beliefs, but a bundle of unexamined prejudices and conjoined sentiments. The basic ideas and beliefs seem more satisfactory when they are not made fully explicit, when they merely lurk rather obscurely in the background, coloring the rhetoric and adding a certain emotive glow.”

To compensate for five decades of public education and pop culture, let's simplify Burnham's message to say that most left-wingers do not base their views on facts but on their feelings.

The truth of Burnham's observation can be proven by examining the cavernous gulch that exists between the ideas modern pop culture idols must believe and espouse at the same time. For example, to be a sexual revolutionary in good standing, you must believe:

This far-from-complete list of contradictions affirms the words of a greater writer than Burnham or I, who wrote, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Sorry, double-minded men or womyn.

So, which ones did I miss?

That there are no moral absolutes – and that is absolutely certain.

That pretty much sums it up.

The left supposedly embraces science, except that it completely rejects the findings of scientists who study human intelligence and have proven substantial IQ differences between the races.

The death penalty is abhorrent for any crime, except if you are connected to an umbilical cord.

Burnham is considered to be the first NeoCon

Back in the day they were Trotsky-ites but became liberal Jewish Hawks and left the dem party because of the antiwar movement and became conservative Jewish hawks and since the post cold war period began, all rightwing hawks are called NeoCons.

A lot of true conservatives don't like NeoCons because they are not very conservative, or, are big government conservatives. But they do tend to be "liberal" on issues like immigration, right to life and homosexuals.

I can think of several but the most important of those is the notion that our rights did not come from our creator but rather from a benevolent government.

This notion manifests itself in several ways but the most important of those is the progressive movements’ efforts to discredit American's founders and the founding documents.

America’s founders understood nature’s laws. America’s founding documents understood the nature of flawed man and the lengths man would go to achieve his own ends.

The Progressive movement is based on the premise that they can improve man from what he was when the founders creating America’s founding documents. It just needs the correct institutions and enough laws to control man. This will provide endless uninterrupted happiness forever.

My question is how can man improve on nature’s laws?

An old Indian Chief sat in his hut on the reservations, smoking a Ceremonial Pipe and eying two U.S. Government officials sent to interview him. "Chief Two Eagles" asked one official, "You have observed the white man for 90 years. You’ve seen his wars and his technological advances. You’ve seen his progress, and the damage he's done.

The Chief nodded in agreement.

The Official continued, "Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?

The Chief stared at the Government Officials for over a minute and then calmly replied, "When white man found this land, Indians were running it."

"No taxes."
"No debt."
"Plenty buffalo."
"Plenty beaver."
"Women did all the work."
"Medicine man free."
"Indian man spent all day hunting and fishing."
"All night having sex."

Then Chief leaned back and smiled, "Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that."

I got one:

Science is a changing, evolving network of theories/hypotheses that require update and challenge to find flaws and, in turn, to find better, stronger theories except for Global Warming, Big Bang theory, and evolution which are absolute and anyone who rejects the contemporary theories should be aborted.

Speaking of double-mindedness (or really hypocrisy, because that is what it is), I am not looking forward to the next conservative presidency- if we last that long and overcome voter fraud to elect one- because we will never be able to compare zero’s lawlessness to them.

For example, if the conservative president does something the left doesn’t like (breathe) they will begin howling. We will respond by saying, but zero did the same thing (or worse). They will howl louder and say that it’s NOT the same and besides zero had good reason for doing it.

Liberalism truly is a mental/emotional disorder.

You have to believe that you are being gentle, considerate, kind and just while at the same time advocating collectivism, the deadliest idea in the history of man.

You also have to believe that limo-riding elistists like Jesse Jackson, Michael Moore, and Barack Obama are champions of the “little guy.”

And that people who claim to be “voices of the voiceless” can expedite the deaths of millions of unborn and remain logically consistent.

And that one cop’s righteous shoot of a charging thug means all police are murderers and assassins, but the videotaped beheading of a bound captive by a muslime convert is an isolated anomaly in a “religion of peace.”

That the Judeo-Christian Founders of this country contributed little to its phenomenal success except a legacy of elitist oppression, but that muslimes, who were practically non-existent in colonial times, shaped the nation’s future.

That all white people are born into a privileged club that puts them above the law and paves the way for their inevitable success in life, but that OJ was innocent and the Ferguson rioters are only expressing a justifiable rage.

And many more ...

Intolerance is bad but it's ok to be intolerant of conservatives.

It's ok for some people to be free to be aggressive and to violate the natural right of liberty of others, when it becomes necessary to promote liberal causes.

It' not ok to be racist, but it is ok to hate "thinking white and acting white" if you are a black liberal.

Its bad to approve of slavery, but its ok to appease aggressive foreign powers for the sake of achieving the peace of slaves.
