Gov. Nixon orders the Missouri National Guard to begin systematically withdrawing from the City of Ferguson

August 21, 2014
St. Louis County, MO

Gov. Jay Nixon today ordered the Missouri National Guard to begin a systematic process of withdrawing from the City of Ferguson. The Missouri National Guard will coordinate with the Missouri State Highway Patrol in carrying out this order.

“I greatly appreciate the men and women of the Missouri National Guard for successfully carrying out the specific, limited mission of protecting the Unified Command Center so that law enforcement officers could focus on the important work of increasing communication within the community, restoring trust, and protecting the people and property of Ferguson,” Gov. Nixon said. “As we continue to see improvement, I have ordered the Missouri National Guard to begin a systematic process of withdrawing from the City of Ferguson.”

On Monday, Gov. Nixon ordered the Guard to carry out the specific mission of protecting the Unified Command Center in Ferguson, which had been the target of a coordinated, planned attack the night before. Missouri National Guard Brigadier General Gregory Mason is overseeing Guard operations in Ferguson under the overall command of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Since that time, the situation has greatly improved with fewer incidents of outside instigators interfering with peaceful protestors, and fewer acts of violence.

Meanwhile, the unified command, which includes officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, St. Louis County, St. Louis City and other jurisdictions, will continue its mission to respond appropriately to incidents of lawlessness while protecting the rights of all peaceful citizens.

And Holder will be on the side of the looters.

No matter what my race or ethnicity, if I lived anywhere within 100 miles of Ferguson, I’d pack up and move to the rural boonies even if I had to live in a tent-that town has been surrendered to mob rule by democrats...

“Nixon announces open season for looting and mayhem.”

Actually, I suspect the withdrawal of the out-of-towners and the national guard is staged to make Holder look good. He came and there was peace.

They can do riots later when the police office is not-indicted. And, that will be closer to the election.

Gov. Jay Nixon's unfortunate remarks several days ago went a long way in ginning up the hysterical plea from Al Sharpton and his (uninformed, uneducated followers) plus encouraging outsiders to jump in on the city of Ferguson, swelling the ranks of Obama's base....do any of these people have a job? Are all on Obama's welfare tit paying them not to work? Obama doesn't obey the rule of law so why should his base.

“... unarmed black 18-year-old...”

“...was shot after physically attacking and charging the officer!”

Should have been the next sentence...funny how the news leaves this out...

Fox News reports:

Michael Brown was shot six times by Wilson while allegedly charging at the officer with full speed after an initial altercation had Brown trying to take Wilson’s gun, according to an anonymous friend of Wilson’s identified only as “Josie” who called onto the radio show hosted by The Blaze’s Dana Loesch last Friday.

The convenient store video show Brown being aggressive over cigars - chocking the store clerk - and then using his body to threaten the clerk in backing off...

Yeah - the real threat was Brown! Any one with common sense know this...

Ferguson is in north St. Louis County. I live 20 miles from there, in south St. Louis County, where there has been no trouble at all. You could be five miles from Ferguson, depending on in which direction, and you would be perfectly safe. As in most metro areas, the bad neighborhoods are dangerous, and the good neighborhoods are safe. You've got to know your neighborhoods.
