OMG, That is legal thief..If you didn’t get a breakdown of the bill, I think you can still get them...When my husband died of his first and only heart attack in the backyard of the farm, I got a (asked for) breakdown of all the charges. One was for surgery, he had no surgery, as they were doing CPR on the way to the hospital....It ticked me off and I asked the funeral director to see if his body had any surgery....she said no....I found out they did a cut-down to insert an IV line..being a nurse I knew and also assisted doctors do a cut down on a patient. Its a one inch incision to put the line in if they can not get a vein. That was the great surgery that cost a small fortune....Some things that get billed for routinely are not really legal costs....
OH, sorry, it was broken down, that covered surgery, recovery, anesthesia, the room for one night, and other things.
What is the theft about it - my insurance had a negotiated price of approximately $9000. That is all that was paid for it. Billed at $50k, paid $9k.
that sounds a little bit better....:O)
