We are arguing semantics. My point is “Asian” is not a race. It is a continent. “Oriental” is a race.

SO TRUE. I'm glad I'm not the only human on the planet to know that.

There are
1. Oriental Asians and
2. Caucasian Asians.

Indians fall under #2; Tibetans fall under #1;
Siberians = Uralic group, whatever the heck that is;
Mongolics are #1
Turkic people MAY be #2
Tungusic group = who knows. Who cares?
Khanty and Mansi = who knows. Who cares?
Samoyeds = who knows. Who cares?
Yukaghir = who knows. Who cares?

I had the same exact experience after filling up at an off brand gas station in the 1970’s in heart of Michigan. It was an older gas station..ma & pop type. And it was run by Caucasian Americans. My car had to be jump started and then all the way home to Chicago burbs, my 1977 Malibu would not go over 35 mph. I took it to the dealer and they had to change my catalytic converter. It was all clogged up with rust!

I never bought off-brand gas again. Only Shell or Chevron for me. Wonderful gas, both. My car has great pep. When I use gas from Safeway, my car runs a bit sluggish.

When I started driving we didn’t have many unbranded stations around; they caught on when gas prices rose and people thought they could save some money. I’m sure Caucasians can gouge people as much as anyone else can, but they operate few gas stations in my area anymore (mainly big brands).

I’ve never gone back to the cheap crap; I’d rather have a functioning car. In a state where we no longer have inspections for anything BUT emissions, I won’t mess around with that.

I did have a Chinese student once and I asked him how to tell. He told me. :o)
