A week into the racial unrest and riots in suburban St. Louis, Missouri’s white, Democratic governor, under pressure from members of his party for his response, veered sharply and called for the “vigorous prosecution” of a white police officer who shot a black man on August 9. After 10 days of muddled response, Jay Nixon appears to have chosen exactly the wrong moment to be bold...

Jedediah can't really afford to be in the limelight. He really likes to use public money for his personal activities. People might start looking into some of the things he has done if he remains in the limelight for long.

They either have dirt on Nixon or he’s a typical dem and saw that his political career was over unless he caved. Or both.

No more a loser than the clown of Pennsylvania Ave. and they keep voting him in.

Nixon looks horrible in all this. The Left, based simply on the fact that his name is Nixon and this situation fits very loosely into a “Four Dead in Ohio” narrative, thinks he is evil incarnate. The right hates his rush to judgment and joining the lynch mob against the officer involved.

Congrats, Jay. You’ve managed to unite Left and Right, but not in the way you may have hoped.

So Governor Nixon has militarized Ferguson, all the while he acts “appalled” on television, as if the militarized police he ordered there came from the moon without his consent. Are these people stupid? Or do they think the public is stupid?

What a fool. All of the newest pieces of information at least must suggest ( even to Nixon) that there at least may be another version to the cold blooded execution of an innocent black man by a racist police officer in broad daylight. He is just inviting more rioting from all the other totally innocent bystanders if even the governor’s demands are not fulfilled

Gov. Nixon jumps to the tune of his masters. Interesting that he has no respect for the law, or for law-abiding parts of the electorate. Gang members, thieves, rioters, and looters must vote early and often in Missouri.

THIS is how a Democrat campaigns for higher office. Dump your roots, turn HARD to the left, get massive national Democrat funding. He ought to bring in the abortion angle, i.e. Michael Brown was a late-term procedure. That'll get him Planned Parenthood cash, too.

The cops in Missouri are going to be really upset if they prosecute this guy for defending himself...hope the citizens of those cities and towns are ready for the repercussions of that.

I’m not sure if cops are allowed to strike or not but they can certainly quit en mass.

Who will police the streets then?

“Are these people stupid? Or do they think the public is stupid?”

Yes on both counts. Probably never socialized well in school, either, as a child.
