cops will die because of ferguson

Cops will die because of Ferguson.

That’s the increasing likelihood as politicians, activists and media advocates across the country vilify law enforcement and the men and women who work in it.

Cops will die because of Ferguson.

They will certainly face increased danger, and so will we. The convergence of two unavoidable consequences of the rhetorical attack on the police will make that inevitable.

The first is the emboldening of those who would raise a fist or a gun against the police.

When you have the president of the United States – twice – criticize law enforcement, implying racism, and you have a parade of pastors and a litany of people interviewed on the evening news, all damning the police and calling them oppressors of blacks and the poor, you legitimize anger against the police.

And you make violence against the police more likely.

That fringe of the population that would attack a law-enforcement officer has one more set of loud voices shouting hatred at the cops. In Ferguson, it’s another night of rocks and bottles, gunshots and Molotov cocktails. Across America, it’s punks who throw punches or aim a gun and fire.

The narrative of cops as racist oppressors empowers and emboldens the violent. It gives a moral justification to their anger and in the split second of decision it unavoidably, played out over who knows how many situations across the country, pushes some into violent action.

Ferguson is going to make some people more likely to throw fists or lead at the cops.

But that is just one of the dynamics at play.

The other is within the police community itself.

Ferguson is going to make police officers less likely to defend themselves and others with deadly force.

The public destruction of the Ferguson officer, denounced by the president before the facts of the matter are even known, and the palpable hatred of him across the country, is going to give police officers pause.

It is going to make them second guess their judgment and training. The threat of trial by Sharpton and the media is intimidating.

And timid people end up dead.

The half moment of hesitancy that the Ferguson outcry will put into every officer’s reactions can be fatal.

Especially when combined with an enflamed criminal population.

The bad buys will be more aggressive and the good guys will be less aggressive.

And that means some good guys are going to end up dead.

When you scapegoat a group of people, you’ve got to realize there will be real-world consequences. And the nationwide attack on law enforcement which Ferguson has been exploited to justify will have real-world consequences.

Namely, dead cops.

Which will highlight one more odd inequity.

When a cop is killed, nobody holds a press conference for his family.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and the Trayvon lawyer and everyone else trying to cash in on Ferguson should recognize that they are going to have blood on their hands.

That includes the president and the attorney general and all the activist reporters tweeting their indignation and condemnation.

If you throw gasoline on a fire, you’re responsible when somebody gets burned.

Right now, gasoline is being thrown on an entire profession. Law-enforcement officers of every stripe are being painted with a broad and hateful brush. It is not civil rights people are pursuing, it is defamation – the defamation of American law enforcement.

And that is crap.

Because your mom was right, the police man is your friend. And while nobody’s perfect and not every question can always be answered, there isn’t any confusion about who the good guys are and who the bad guys are.

One group lies in wait to rape and rob and kill, and the other came to work today ready to die, if need be, to protect you and your family.

And this isn’t just a matter of different races having different perspectives, this is a matter of truth and error, honesty and dishonesty. The narrative of oppressive white cops racially targeting black men is bunk, pure and simple. It is a lie.

A lie that is apt to cost a cop his life.

Just like the military has become under Obama, law enforcement is becoming another career path that we would not recommend to our sons and daughters.

As long as the dead cops are white, then justice is served.

"As long as the dead cops are white, then justice is served."

Same message about the race of targets. Shoot the white kids, withdraw when the crooks are minorities.

If I was a cop in MO.....I would call a Blue Flu. Nixon hates cops so let him see what it would be like without them on the job.

Abusive, useless, revenuer cops deserve the approbation heaped on them. So a blanket appeal on behalf of cops falls on my deaf ears. I’m sick of hearing about the poor cops, when in my entire life’s experience, they suck.

Idiot citizens who charge cops deserve shooting. So I have no brief for that dead guy in Ferguson.

Normal people can have great distaste for the misbehavior of both groups.

Law-enforcement officers of every stripe are being painted with a broad and hateful brush.

When they were Peace Officers we didn’t seem to have these problems, but then the Fascist Police State changed them into Law Enforcement officers just like the GESTAPO. Remember a Police Officer only has a “LEGAL DUTY” to protect the Political Entity that employs them, there is no such duty when it comes to the Citizenry.

They deserve everything that happens to them, they made the decision to be part of a Police State voluntarily.

yes, am living in a foreign country once known as America. No wonder America hasn’t come home. Is too dangerous and about to become more dangerous. Our political elites must be proud they have done such a wonderful job of driving America out of America. Why else would they feed Americans nothing but lies from their media controlled minions?

I have read this before in the past 48 hours, ‘that Darren Wilson is’ hated across the country. Is that actually true? I think it is more likely that Daren Wilson is pities by the law-abiding citizens because he is a scapegoat for all the social ills within the black community and the liberal/left-wing’s hatred for law and order.

Pat Buchanan has said that this sort of obsession against a white policeman, who was doing his duty, may result in a backlash among the white community who are sick and tired of blacks always blaming someone else for their own problems and behavior.

And while I am on the subject of Ferguson, MO and Michael Brown - does anyone else see the irony of the sight of a nearly 300 lb bully manhandling a store clerk, then being lionized by the left-wing media as a victim? Isn’t it the liberal education establishment which is always foisting upon the teachers and their little students the reeducation camps against bullying? People can use the excuse for nearly any crime by saying they were bullied, and these idiots will believe them - yet when we can see with our own eyes that Michael Brown was the quintessential bully, suddenly he is just a gentle person who was unarmed.

Only as it pertains to queers and other perverts.

if people resent the police, it is because they have shot a lot of people’s dogs, arrested a lot of people’s teens for bee ess charges, punched a lot of people, dragged a girl through a car window, etc

WHY is this equation so difficult?

More power to the state means less liberty for the individual.

Blacks vote 95%+ as a conformist collective FOR “progressive” big government. Government is the answer to every question, the solution to every problem for the conformist collective.

AND the result of big government is, and always has been, less freedom. History shows that big government ALWAYS has brutal and heavy-handed enforcement, and shows no respect for wards-of-the-state.

Blacks vote for the chains that bind them. They deliberately subsume individual liberty to the collective.

Don’t blame the cops. They are the inevitable result of a government that grows out of proportion to any consideration for individual liberty ... a government blacks vote for 95% of the time.

And look for the quality of cops to start to go downhill fast. What decent pperson who wants to enforce the law would be crazy enough to want to become a cop.

The horrible thing about this case is there’s no way I can see Officer Wilson doing anything but what he did. He was attacked by a monstrous 300 lb. criminal because that criminal feared being arrested for the crime he had just committed. Then, when he attempted to arrest tyhe same criminal, the horrific thing charged him in an effort to murder him. Wilson had no choice but to do what he did: kill the thing before it killed him. Now the Mahdi has decreed that he be destroyed because he protected himself and the whole community by doing the only thing he could do, other than let himself be murdered.

Unless and until the ‘good’ cops actively help get rid of the bad ones, they will all be painted with the same brush.

A person or group is no better than the worst behavior they tolerate, be it cops, a military unit, or protesters.

In either case- either do whatever you have to do to identify and neutralize the people misbehaving (regardless of what your in-group culture and traditions say), or deal with being thought of, treated, and punished in the same way without whining or playing the victim.

I hate to say it, but I think this Ferguson thing is totally overblown and will result in nothing more than what has already happened. It is nothing but a crowd of news reporters looking to report on something that just isn’t happening.

“...and the palpable hatred of him across the country...”

I disagree with this. There are many groups across the country who will support Officer Wilson. Check the FaceBook pages, comments by law enforcement and their families, and groups who are sending food & money to the officers in Ferguson.

Cops should be elected (regardless of qualifications) by the communities they serve.
