You are right. That has to do with political values of the publisher more than anything. While that business niche for honest hard news and investigative reporting is obviously open, it has yet to thrive in a free market. Now that I understand what the term "social media" actually means!! ... I wouldn't be surprised to see that playing a major role on helping things right themselves through another venue.

Fear of offending people or customers prevents many businesses from pursuing or boycotting certain advertising venues, or taking certain social/political stands. They are socially bullied by the media for the position if it is contrary to the left. Chik Fil A is perfect example of one business that called the media's bluff.

The media backed off when it found out that real Americans were overwhelmingly on the side of Chik Fil A. The media is just the media, and if you read the comments at regular MSM sites here and there -- not Fox, but ABC, CBS, NBC, LA Times, etc. -- you often see that about six in ten people -- not posts, but individuals -- think the MSM sucks. A lot of them say so with more venom than anyone here on FR. They're almost as tough on Obama and liberalism in general.

The MSM is just the MSM. Most Americans hold it in contempt. So while it has control over "the news," it has also lost control in the minds of leery, savvy, they-know-leftist-propaganda-when-they-see-it Americans. The majority of your fellow compatriots are as skeptical of the media as we are. HAVE FAITH.
