The Bible records a lot of things that were done that were wrong.

When you get right down to it, the Old Testament is almost entirely the story of people DISOBEYING God and occasionally seeing that their sinfulness is wrong.

I wouldn't expect her to because it's not in there.

But oddly enough, there are FReepers who seem to believe there is.

It’s gotten to the point where nothing surprises me any more.

I just have to shake my head.

“Read the Bible and You’ll See”

I have. Cover to cover. Probably multiple times. Don't see nothing like that.

If she said the part in the law books where the guys are fighting, hit the woman by accident and make her miscarry, and she’s trying to make that apply to what her husband does, that’s so stupid that I think you actually get to slap her for that, don’t you? At least, you should.

And if she’s trying to use Herod or child-sacrifice, it makes you wonder if she has to be reminded to breathe.

She never does get around to explaining where in the Bible she finds support for killing babies.

Maybe she thinks it is good to make the Lord weep.

4 Kings (2 Kings) 8:12
And Hazael said to him: Why doth my lord weep? And he said: Because I know the evil that thou wilt do to the children of Israel. Their strong cities then wilt burn with fire, and their young men thou wilt kill with the sword, and thou wilt dash their children, and rip up their pregnant women.

Seriously, I think she is probably citing Psalms 136:9, "Blessed be he that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock." Given the context, pretty weak, but I have seen anti-Christians pull that one out before.

How damning to think she can twist God’s Word in this way, The bread on her table is bought with the blood of God’s babies.

Post 9 and post 10 look to me like they are making parallel points, in a similar writing style. If you “get” post 10, apply that reasoning to post 9, and it too should make sense.

Y’all correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems you’re both saying the passages you referred to are the relevant Bible passages on the subject of God’s position on abortion. There was a hint of sarcasm in your responses, but not of the sort which would merit a sarcasm tag (which might easily be misattributed to the Word of God).

I’m sure we are all in agreement that God does not condone abortion.

If there is a sin worse than killing babies, it just might be putting words in God’s mouth.

Yes, abortion is a herodian crime.

A little Concordance Check reveals that God spoke out not once, not twice, but something like 20 times in the OT specifically against the shedding of innocent blood. He says it’s an abomination. He detests it.

Look up the parts of the Bible that mention Moloch. A large brass statue and furnace with a bull’s head and a man’s body. In front of it was a pit of fire. Once the fire inside it had heated the statue to very hot, parents would offer their infant children to the priests of Moloch.

With the sound of drums and trumpets covering the screams of the children, the priest would then set the baby on the statue’s searing hot metal arms, where it would cook to death and eventually drop into the fire pit below. The ritual would be followed with an orgy.

The reason for this child sacrifice was that, unlike JHVH, the priests of Moloch promised instant gratification and prosperity without work.

The parallels with the abortion industry of today are surprising. Offering women license to “keep partying” and to shun the expense and hardship of raising children.

The ancient Hebrews could never rid themselves of the cult of Moloch, despite the strictest condemnations and threats. The promise of easy wealth was just too great.

The Bible speaks of Murder in general terms, the Didache [A.D. 70]). is specific about abortion

Didache 2:1–2; "The second commandment of the teaching: You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not seduce boys. You shall not commit fornication. You shall not steal. You shall not practice magic. You shall not use potions. You shall not procure [an] abortion, nor destroy a newborn child"

Many protestant groups do not accept the Didache since it is not apostolic in origin, but it does demonstrate that the Catholic Church has been against abortion from the beginning.

First communications from God to Man is in Genesis 1:28 is to go forth and multiply. This the first order of business. The first issued order that has no caveats or attached stipulations. How would God want Man to behave in any way that would not move that forward?
