I didn’t like voting to eliminate my township’s local police force but we just can’t justify paying for them in a near no crime area.

Well, that is pretty much what you said. I was simply trying to verify whether it was what you meant.
During a bank robbery in North Hollywood in 1997 the robbers wore heavy body armor and carried select-fire Kalashnikov rifles, handguns, an HK-91, and fully auto AR-15.
The patrol officers were armed with either a 9 mm or .38 Some of the officers had a 12 gauge in their patrol car. The thugs carried ammunition capable of penetrating vehicles and police Kevlar vests. The bank robbers body armor deflected bullets and shotgun shells fired by the officers. SWAT eventually arrived with sufficient firepower, and they commandeered an armored truck to evacuate the wounded. Several officers also appropriated AR-15 rifles from a firearms dealer. Eleven police officers and seven civilians were injured.
Prior to this incident the crooks had ambushed and robbed two armored trucks killing one of the guards.
These police officers put themselves out there in harms way and at the very least should be as well armed as the crooks.
Civil services should be in proportion to the taxpayers’ needs; yet, others are making decisions for the taxpayers that are not necessarily in the taxpayers’ best interest.
LEOs must be equipped with the right gear. But not in the sense they’re fighting Iraqi insurgents.
Something quite clever is Balkanizing the Country — destroying our society. I have yet to figure out what it is, but it’s something tangible facilitating an inimical ideology.
If you buy the philosophy that conservatism is ideologically and fundamentally about freedom and self reliance of the citizens, militarization of the police is counterproductive to both. It potentially takes our freedoms and forcibly increases the dependency on government, and makes martial law one baby step away from reality.

It is now called the consolidated MSM. Their mission is to keep the USA divided / Balkanized and eventually one easy step from the anarchy that the PTB now easily foment in other countries.
They use political correctness as their weapon of choice to marginalize those who are willing to speak truth. They want our country multi-culturalized; they want our borders open; they want our firearms controlled so that the sheep are really sheep; they want minorities in control and white anglos majority relegated to serfdom; they now want to close off anonymous internet comments section thus requiring the public to use Facebook and risk losing their jobs over politically incorrect opinions. The MSM wants omnipotent power.
I may raise my eyebrows and chortle over the (supposedly) heavy arming of ALL Police and Agencys...
My problem is when they have all this fire power and stand by and let the feral animals wantonly trash and burn businesses and steal property from within.
If they are NOT going to utilize what they have, then may as well take it away from them.
I can never imagine or picture Police from the 50’s/60’s/70’s just standing around while kids were screaming in a building while some nut job was going classroom to classroom.
Right, wrong or indifferent, regular beat officers from those times would have acted.
Of course, they weren’t all required to have XX #of hours College under their belt, the ones usually chosen were vets who had had some experience with life’s EVERYDAY doings.
Granted some were out of control BUT not with the all too often Rambo type activities we are seeing today....
And a dog would have to be pretty ‘mean’ and/or threatening for a beat cop to shoot one.

Of course they would have taken action,especially in the 50s and 60s.
The race hustling business hadn’t reared it’s ugly head yet.

Interested point as I consider the MSM to be the Country’s greatest threat.
