WFTV in Orlando, Florida reported Friday about a callous, violent robbery of an elderly white woman by three young black men that left the woman hospitalized with a serious brain injury and a broken clavicle.
The Publix surveillance videos released to the media show rare, clear before, during and after video of the victim, the perps and the robbery.
There will be no protests, no candlelight vigils, no statement by President Barack Obama, no Justice Department investigation, no visits by Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. The race ‘healers’ won’t descend on Ocoee like they are doing in Ferguson this week or Sanford last year. There’s no money or political hay to be made.
The 74 year old white woman was just starting her weekly shopping at a Publix grocery store in Ocoee, Florida Friday morning. Store surveillance cameras filmed the scene as she wiped down the shopping cart in which she had placed her purse in the child seat. Three young black males are seen exiting the store together as the woman finishes wiping her cart. The youth in the middle steps toward the woman. He reaches out as he passes her and grabs ahold of her purse.
He rips it from her left hand pulling her and the shopping cart over. The woman tries to hold on to her purse. It is possible the purse was secured with the safety belt in the child seat as the purse’s handle appears to break while the cart falls in the direction of the robber. The robber sees the elderly woman slam hard to the floor as she goes down with the cart but he takes off with her purse instead of helping her.

OK, set the purse-snatchers up. A little explosive device in the purse, triggered within 100 feet by a little remote, which can clip on to any part of your clothing.

Even better, don't carry a purse. Women should choose clothing with large enough pockets that are difficult to grab into to hold their money. A prepaid credit card with just a little money, a health insurance porvider card and an expired drivers license are all one needs for ID. Another trick....wear cheap jewelry instead of no jewelry. On sidewalks, walk closer to the road instead of in the shadows of the building.
Is that paranoid? Not at all. It doesn't make me feel 100% safe, but I have the confidence of while being in my late 60s not looking like an easy victim carrying things worth stealing.
You’re not being paranoid, you’re being smart; being smart is what keeps you safe and alive, not being just pious or careful or vigilant.
Just fill the purse full of job applications and it will never be stolen.
Remember the lefts motto, when its black on white crime its justified because of slavery and stuff..and when blacks loot stores and steal Air Jordans and XBOX’s, its all in the name of “Social Justice” that is what they have been taught in schools for generations

You’re right about all those things women should do, but it makes me angry that I have to live that way. We do not have freedom, but instead we cower in fear before hateful thugs we’re not allowed to criticize. Welcome to the land of the free and the home of the brave.
What's odd is that I've gotten into the pattern and it's great to be free of the handbag! I choose clothes with good size pockets, and as a fringe benefit they tend to be comfortable and practical. (skorts, hiking skirts, casual blazers etc) Shoes are not decorative stilts to try to balance on....no ma'm. They're comfortable flats or sneakers. Life is better without worrying about makeup. Folks don't like seeing a few well-earned wrinkles, don't look at me! No more high-maintainence hair styles.
The purse and the panty hose.....they do more to keep women in chains than monthly you'know-what did when I was younger!
