You park your SUV in a space and you and your wife prepare to do some shopping. You open the door and a 300 pound jerk is near to the vehicle and he slams your door shut and yells at you and tells you to leave, and says your kind don't belong around here. You get out of the vehicle, and the jerk pushes you back into it, punches you in the face a few times, and for good measure, punches your wife in the mouth, splitting her lip. He walks away and you get out of your car, and you have your concealed weapon in hand. The jerk is about 35 feet away. He sees you and angrily yells that he told to leave and he's going to f... you up! He charges at you, and you only have a couple of seconds to decide. What would YOU do?
If he’s dumb enough to charge someone pointing a gun at him he’s already punched, he’s gonna get shot.
It was either that, or as the eyewitnesses said, the scuffle happened, gun is in hands of officer pointing at Brown and he fired.
Would you shoot someone that just punched you in the face? Or let them go into the system and likely walk ?

Forget the rack part.
I’d throw on my cammo, jump in my tank, and call out the sharp shooters.

I have the superior weapon - my SUV. Before he gets to the point of assaulting my wife, I have everyone back in the vehicle and I am driving to another store. I can, from there, call the store and call the police if he is continually menacing customers.
If I happen to give him a little Tony Stewart action on my way past him, I have eye witnesses to support me that the thug started it and I was just attempting to leave.
Shoot the moron, of course.
The problem with your scenario is that he has ceased hostility and walked away.
A police officer would have the responsibility to apprehend the suspect.
As a civilian with concealed carry, if the direct threat has stopped, it is my responsibility to defuse the situation. If I were in the car, that would be driving away.
I’m not saying the cop is wrong but I would go to jail given your scenario.
Because of the job I have, the people I’m around, my safety has never been on, and I’ve never had one in the chamber/ I know, I know....the cops laugh at that...but I have to have a balance between my safety and those around me. I’ve trained this way, and I know it’s not a popular way to carry. But again, circumstances.....
Not much of a question... you’re being charged by someone who’s already just demonstrated violence to a person. Doubt that he has property damage on his mind. Nobody’d blame you if you shot. This is what Zimmerman could have done but he waited until even the brawl got to the point that left him no choice.
As the wife, riding shotgun, I would have shot him before it ever got that far.
you missed the part where he was approaching the vehicle again, yelling that he is gonna F you up.
There is no problem with my scenario. There is no right or wrong answer. I’m just asking what YOU would do. In your case, you would drive away. You have answered the question.
