Robbery Tape Humiliates Media's 'Gentle Giant' Narrative (Michael Brown/Ferguson, Missouri)
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | August 15, 2014 | Ben Shapiro

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

With the release of tape today by the Ferguson Police Department of a man who appears to be Michael Brown allegedly physically assaulting a much smaller clerk while stealing Swisher Sweet cigars, the media’s narrative has collapsed. The media – and top-level politicians across the political spectrum – portrayed Michael Brown in saintlike fashion. That narrative no longer holds.

The report from the police department states:

Brown grabbed a box of Swisher Sweet cigars and handed them to Johnson. [REDACTED] witnessed [REDACTED] tell Brown that he had to pay for those cigars first. That is when Brown reached across the counter and grabbed numerous packs of Swisher Sweets and turned to leave the store.

Brown then reportedly “grabbed [an intervening bystander] by the shirt and forcefully pushed him back into a display rack.”

We still don’t know the details of what happened between Officer Darren Wilson and Brown that led to Brown’s shooting death. Perhaps Wilson is a racist; we have no evidence of that as of yet. Perhaps Wilson used excessive force; we have no evidence of that as of yet, since we don’t have full evidence of the situation leading to the shooting. If Officer Wilson killed Brown without justification, he should obviously be punished to the full extent of the law....

Probably because lawyers, politicians and p.r. people are involved.

And the odds are that folks anticipating a GOP landslide might be unpleasantly surprised when the election returns come in.

At this point, I do not consider a GOP landslide to be a win.
Why?

That can best be answered with an honest look at some questions:

  1. The GOP claims to be for governmental accountability, yet what have they done WRT Fast & Furious?
  2.     "      WRT the IRS political targeting?
  3. The GOP claims to be for the Constitution, yet were they defending the 4th Amendment WRT the NSA's domestic espionage?
  4. The GOP claims to be for the 2nd Amendment; when have you ever heard them seriously talking about repeal of NFA or GCA?
  5. The GOP claims to be for reforming/lowering taxes; why haven't they pushed for a flat income tax?
  6. The GOP claims to be against abortion; why is it NEVER the right time to push the issue?
  7.     "      why did they push pro-abortion Romney in 2012, even as they added no exceptions to the platform plank?
  8. The GOP claims to be for a strong national defense; why then did they keep the border unsecured when they had control of both the Executive and Legislative?
  9. The GOP claims to be about Constitutionally limited government; why then do they support the War on Drugs which essentially requires unlimited government?
  10.     "      yet not a peep when the USSC declares that the fourth amendment has exceptions.
  11. The GOP claims outrage when governing bodies usurp powers; yet they do nothing to correct an usurpation when they are in power.
Looking at actions [and inactions] I am forced to conclude that they are colluding with the Democrat party for Statist goals.

So you’re saying that either the Ferguson Police Department or Breitbart doctored an old video with new dates and are trying to pass it off as the “alleged” Michael Brown QuikTrip robbery? That’s interesting. Tell me more...

If he really did see that four years ago, I am not going to argue with him. What I will do is ask for Powerball numbers.

They’ve already declared Brown a martyr and facts don’t matter.

I bought the line the media fed me

Have you seen the benefit articles the media is posting? The pictures of the poster for a benefit pictures what looks like a fat 12-year-old boy (Mike Brown when very young). Gee, where have we seen tactics like that before? Trayvon! The family has raised well over $50,000 so far for this angelic "gentle giant".

Has the mainstream media shown the video of Brown, which looks like he’s on dope or something?

I lean toward that post being '/s' => 'mean cracka cop' is the tip-off.

For those who don't know, Swisher Sweets are not actual cigars. They are cigarillos, and they are worth about 30-50 cents each. 99% of buyers actually cut them open length-wise, empty out the tobacco, and fill them with pot. This is called a "blunt". In most of the US, few smoke "joints" anymore (pot rolled into ZigZag papers). Blunts are far more popular, and Swisher Sweets are by far the most popular blunt-wrap of choice (they come in many flavors, like strawberry, peach, cherry, grape, white grape, etc)

I also heard he was an aspiring rapper (known as “Swisher Sweet” locally) but was leaning heavily to the priesthood......someone also said...He never valued his Harvard Law Degree...preferring to downplay it by saying...”Of course I graduated at the top of my class....even had a better GPA than brother Obama”...but I only did that for my mother.... He was quite a guy....wasn't he....I'm gonna miss him..../S

Grabbing even a large handful would only be worth about $5-10. He was merely looking for blunt-wraps so he could smoke more weed and not be inconvenienced by going to the store to buy another 2-3 blunt-wraps each time he wanted to get high. Most who smoke pot only buy them as needed, and do not keep a supply on hand. (They get “stale” quickly, and that makes it tougher to roll into a blunt. They have to be soft and “fresh”, so buying a supply isn’t popular.)

The media, like Obama, when they open their trap spew lies to fit their agenda.

Do not fall for it. We must try to use deductive reasoning to wade thru the facts.

No they weren't.

Baloney -- they were too and if you want to get the tapes of the local stations you will see it and hear it. And check my posts because for 5 days I asked for what should have come on day 1.

The local reporters asked why Brown was stopped and got nothing -- until today.

People even on this forum poopooed the idea that he was stopped because he was in the middle of the street and today from the Chief's mouth you heard directly although it had to be dragged out of his mouth.

And one reporter told the PC that by releasing the tape yesterday he was putting the store at risk and tonight that reporter has been proven right and the police are nowhere to be found.

None of these are people from the neighborhood and there are white kids mixed in but the police are nowhere to be found as that store is being looted.

Residents and peaceful protesters are outside standing incredulously asking where the police are and pointing out that these looters are not people from the area and could easily be arrested one at a time -- but the police are MIA having their hissy fit probably.

The reporters are on the scene filming this outrage and police know that it is happening and yet no police protection for this storeowner.

There's politics and jurisdictional battles between the city police, the county police and the state highway patrol and as a result the criminal element is running wild.

The whole lot of them from top down should be fired.

“I bought the line the media fed me”

It bothers me that they fed the story to us to begin with. While any cop can make a mistake, I suspect those of us that live within 10 miles of an urban black underclass assumed the shooting was “clean”. Cops in those areas are rarely proactive, as everything they do is suspect; they tend to “de-police” and let the gibsmedats kill each other (while attempting to protect the remaining businesses - whose taxes pay their salaries).
